Asha Bhonsle was in Chennai to sing a song for Chandramukhi under the baton of music director Vidyasagar for whom the film is a prestigious project. There are six songs in the album and the music is said to be “rocking”.
The music launch of Chandramukhi would take place on March 5 in Chennai and the overseas launch would be on March 6 in Malaysia. Asha Bhonsle and Kamal Hassan will be present for the launch in Chennai.

Sachien Songs are better than both Chandramukhi and Mumbhai Express and i think that movie is going to win the this three way race.....after Rajni if there is any one who can get those openings it has to be vijay and i feel it is more of a clash b/w rajni and vijay rather than kamal |

MUSIC: Vidyasagar.
Punch Line: treat to Rajini's fans..
Rajinikanth movies doesnt need to be a musical hit. He never depends upon music to make his movie a hit. Also its very tough to score music to Rajini's movies as it is very difficult to satisfy his needs. Only Ilayaraja could succeed. Then Deva had a success story but he too was limited to one or two movies. AR Rahman couldnt deliver in last movie "Baba". Its tough because his type of songs are predefined. One song will be a group song where it tells Rajini greatness ( Rajini's introducing song ), two duets, one philisophical song ( in mass tunes ) and one sentimental song. Vidyasagar succeeded a bit in this movie by catering exactly what rajini and his fans needs.
After a long time Tamil industry had a big audio sales and music will be hit. Dont know how it will fare in telugu.
Now coming to songs..
1. Andala Aakashamantha .. Singers: SP. Balasumbramaniam Rating: 4.5
Man SPB even singing for so many years doesnt loose his charm, freshness in voice, command over song. This song sounds pakka tamil song. Beats are pure tamil folk beats. Dont get suprise if this is heard some where ( Ilayaraja song ).But still you will really like this song just because SPB sung this. Vidyasagar did a good job. Attinthom tindiyum thondana thindadinunthom is the start of this song and SPB fans this song is a treat for you guys. Kid singing in between could be a ARR hangover.
2. Annagari Mata ... Singers: Karthik, Anuradha Sriram Rating: 3.0
Another folk song. Starts with some small bit. I guess this is a group song where Prabhu starts and rajini takes over from "ippudu Choodu". Somehow Rajini's songs include telugu words. "Ikkada Raa raa ramayya" and other songs. Karthik gets only one song compared to Rajini's last movie. "Agatha mella Nagatha peechu" Dont know what it means. A treat for Rajini's fans. Tunes, interludes are repeated from somewhere.. Some fundas are explained in this song.
3. Chiluka Pada Pada... Singers: Tippu, Rajeshwari, Manicka Vinayagam, Ganga Rating: 2.0
Passable song. Nothing much to offer. "Superstar power ee kottandam...", another normal song.
4. Devuda Devuda Singers: SP. Balasumbramaniam Rating: 3.5
This could be the introducing song to Rajini. Like in Bhasha, Muthu etc., there will be one song where he tries to project as he is there for all others to help.. Give some suggestions to people give some good funda's. Only SPB can do justice to this type of songs. They tried to give major pie to Karthik in last movie Baba which didnt workout I guess. Good to see rajini is having SPB back. Repeatu.., shabhashu in between the songs. Some hoo haa here and there. Will be a treat to fans. There will be big hungama for this song in movie. "Naa valla hrudayalu vajralau nuvvu konchem sana pettaraa".
5. Konta Kalam Singers: Sujatha, Madhu Balakrishna Rating: 4.5
one good melody as a duet is for sure in Rajini's movies. This is the best of the movie. In tamil this was sung by Asha Bhosle and Madhu Balakrishnan.. Here its Sujatha. This song is still more best in tamil. Sujatha and Madhu did really great. Vidyasagar gave one good song. kalam is the word used in the entire song. And song rotates around that word. A very nice melody.
6. Varai Nan Unnai Thedi Singers: Nityasri, Mahadevan Rating: 3.0
This movies story has something for this song. Some code word that Rajini will break using with the help song. That in tamil this is a telugu song. And in telugu its tamil song. So if you dont know tamil, download telugu version of this song from Tamil audio.. Raa raa is the song in tamil. Some dance sequence song. Nityasree is good for this classical song. Classic Musical lovers will like this.
