// 3) Gichhi Gichhi The rhythms start promisingly. And when Soumya takes off, you quickly understand that Sandeep Chowtha has a winner on his stand. The success of the song could be in the rural ditty-like simple rhythm. There is a touch of Gujarathi folk here. And in the voice of Udit Narayan it gets accentuated. Sandeep Chowtha keeps his instrumentation simple and straight. // naaku ee song tega nachindi... |

Music Review Sandeep Chowtha is a talented music director who has not got his due in Bollywood. But in Nagarjuna he has somebody who values his ability.Otherwise Nags would not have handpicked him for his Super. The film has a modern in-your-face kind of youthful appeal. And there is nobody better than Sandeep, who has worked with leading music channels, to whipup the MTV generation songs. Though the songs are uni-dimensional in the album, it goes with the territory, as Super is a racy, rocking kind of film. The songs fit the bill aptly. 1) Akkad Bakkad Just imagine yourself on the racetrack with all those bevy of beauties and the smell of high-octane fuel in the air. So what kind of music would you want to hear? Don't worry, this song would do just fine. This song rocks as much as it could. Starting innocuously with the Akkad Bakkadline, the children's ditty, it catches you with its verve and zing. This is not for those who want melody. This is for those who like to shake their mean hips on the disco floor. Sonu Kakkar has a shrill high-pitched voice and sounds like Malathi in many ways. 2)Chandramukhi Like a bartender slowly mixing the cocktails, the number slowly builds up in combination. Then again, like cocktail, it is difficult to place it in a single genre. It has a catchy rhythmic line and the aggressive guitar places it in the rock category. But the slow interludes (in places) change the tempo. Sandeep Chowtha, the singer, has a different voice like most music directors. He tends to go overboard at places, but manages in other places. 3) Gichhi Gichhi The rhythms start promisingly. 4) Mastana Again head for the disco floors. DJs will just love this. The rhythms are western and so is the singing (of Sandeep Chowtha and Nikita). But it is not loud and ear-jarring. It goes with the tone and tenor of the album. And one guesses it suits the film fine. 5) Mila Mila Anushka's voice has a magical allure. Like Usha Uthup in her pomp, it has a unique life. The complicated twists and turns in the essential tune just build beautifully in Anushka's voice. The 'Arabian beginning' to the song is simply stunning. The 'GeNext' would just love this. Though the lyrics come out mangled, the song quickly enmeshes you in its strange appeal.Perhaps the best in the album. 6) Mudduletti Another of those loud rocking songs with Sonu Nigam and Sonu Kakkar combining together felicitously. The orchestration and tonal variations are the prime attractions of this number. Sandeep Chowtha has been brought from Mumbai for a specific purpose and he seems to have done just that. |
