I agree with you Balu completely... The reason why felt working MNCs and coming through them is good option is since u need to support some things back home and seen lots IFs in your note . IF we are confident and can have a backup for at least 6 months.. coming on ur own on H1 is best. Already ikkada pedda pandits vunnaru ee direct H1 meeda vachina vallu, better the speak out. My wishes to you!

india lo nelaki chetilo 60 undalante.. u know how much gross it will be around 10 lakhs per anam.. naaku 7.5 lakhs ki chetiki nelaki 40 vastadi.. u know how much is the rent 10,000 for a decent house.. food and other things 5000 easily... so what we save is around 20 to 25k per month.. so when i say 7.5 lakhs it looks so big.. and end of the day what we save is pea nuts.. where as i think in US u guys save much better even with $50K.. right? ( i am talking about savings after all deductions and expenditure).. can not we easily save 70,000 per month... ($1500) where is 25 and where is 70? so working in US for 1 year is equivalent to working in India for 3,4 years? thats why ppl r still mad about coming to US?

quote:But the problem with these companies is, there already expereinced people who r waiting for 2,3 years for US chance.. even i join now there is no guarentee that i will be sent. many people were given a promise and later it did not work out..
Balu: First of all, the perception of attacking this issue should change, Sorry but I have to mention, you are thinking pessimistic in this regard. I agree there is no oppuruntiy waiting for us and some times situations are dynamic. I will tell an incident which my friends faced. One client (world's most admired company) told back home at india's office to scrap it with an email which is 50-50 offshore and onshore project consisting 200 resources. By that time the IT company spent months in recruiting, trainning and processing all necessary documents and allocating physical infrasturcure. So you never know what happens. We should anticipate this. We should have a clear cut idea before agreeing on getting into the project. Next, it does not matter who is exp.. and blah.. it is our performance and wit.. and the interaction you do with client and customer brings u the fruits. Also they look at many factors while sending us to onsite since u are representing the whole project. ( i know account, PM and other bosses around).
quote:if does not work out, the indian u pay here from TCS, Wipro, Satyam etc., is far far below the Industry standards... u won't even get u r previous salary pay sometimes.
Sir, after looking at ur payscale. I see you are in good position. So the best option I feel is stay in India with family, have frequent visits to different countries. Since the overseas salaries being paid by these MNCs are some what better when compared being a consulatant. (it involves, percentages, the chance of having job all 12months is less and insurances and other issues should be taken care of urself). I agree we have quick and fat pay checks for a consultant. |

boss: one suggestion if you speculating so much about getting job in US and living might affect you back home... Why can't you switch job that has immediate onsite opputunity in US and fly here with the company being provided with moderate US salaries. Before getting into the job itself.. workout an offer with the new employer to send you somewhere. This is what most of guys doing now. IT will help you out in keeping up finanical responsibilites and peace of mind Try TCS, Wipro, Satyam and Infy and some more companies who place you in long term projects in US. Also it is all depends on how best we negotiate with the PM of the project, the HR guy before joining... give it a shot.. |

Baalu, >>1.Can i request the consultent to arrange the interviews for me when i am in india itself? is it possible? Because i have taken a major loan and leaving a stable job here will put in risk unless i make the job in US within a month. So i am planning to request my employer to get me a job when i am india which will reduce the risk for me. my question is whether you know it is possible or not ( without SSN etc.,) ??? It is possible to get a job and even payroll can be processed without SSN. Not at all an issue. But to get interviews while still in India is very tough. >>2. I am married and expecting a kid in Feb 2005. Many of friends here in india are saying why you want to take risk now. u have a stable job getting 7.5 lakhs annual salary and they r suggesting me to not to go to US now. but i got this chance at last now and i do not wanna loose it. want to stay there for 1 year and try to survive.. then if i am satisifed with the stay then i will take my wife and kid. if not i will come to india and find another job. this is what i am thinking. Many of you might have gone thruogh the struggle already. i am offered 50k in Michigan. i think i can survive with it. but i will ask for a raise when i take my wife and kid. please help me with u r suggessions as u have already underwent the process.. Michigan ante is it Covansys. Covansys laanti company ayyithe u can take risk and come to US by living ur 7.5 lakh per job. Or else bacha company ayyithe konchem risk. Also Market is really dull until Jan. Bench lo vaadu full pay chesthaada. mail me at sai@idlebrain.com if u have any questions |

Hi, I have worked for GE, India for 4 years. Through GE i travelled and i was in Denver for 6 months. and for 3 months in Netherlands. My skills are in Microsoft Techs. Now into .NET stuff. Coming to US on H1 has been my dream. But i am really in a confused state. My main motivation is to save money to clear off the loans i have taken here. My doubts are: 1.Can i request the consultent to arrange the interviews for me when i am in india itself? is it possible? Because i have taken a major loan and leaving a stable job here will put in risk unless i make the job in US within a month. So i am planning to request my employer to get me a job when i am india which will reduce the risk for me. my question is whether you know it is possible or not ( without SSN etc.,) ??? 2. For .NET do you have any good FAQs, links, Interviews Questions. Please pass it on to me? I am really confused. And your valuable inputs will make me take a firm decision. Please give me your inputs.. Thanks for going through this long post.... Thanks. -Balu |
