santabbai i think u'll have problems.....if ur h1 is already approved........if so u have to come back on ur h1 stamping only.........just check it........becos if u got it approved ur status would be as h1 in their database and not as f1......and in that case they expect ur h1 papers to see and not i20/opt cards |

mogambo, I have the offer letter, and, can get the employment verification letter too...
kvs, I enquired about the h1 I-94...and it dosen't seem to be a problem. |

You can leave the country when u r in opt provided if u have a letter from ur employer saying that u r working for him and u need to return on so so date. |

Going on OPT is always risky. First and foremost is international office has to approve it, lot of universities International Offices do not encourage it. Since your IO has said np, you can take the risk. the main problem with going outside US while on OPT is at port of entry, if you are really unlucky, they may ask you why you are coming back since the purpose of F1 is served (i.e. Degree and OPT). it is all about luck. lot of people do go on OPT. since your H1 is also approved, that means I-94 change ayyi untundi. Please find out if this matters. your case may not be simple like students going on OPT and coming back while still on OPT. this is the info i got from my friend |
