I am living in Canada for the last 7.5 years. I am not in IT though. Couple of my friends applied and got Canadian immigration (with in a year) after they realized that they are not going to get the green card in the US. If you are in IT (or any engg. for that matter) the right places now are Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. First two are in Alberta province and Vacouver is in British Columbia on west coast. Van couver's climate is very similar to the Seattle's (they are with in 3 hrs driving distance). Calgary is not much colder than many east coast cities in the US. Edmonton is colder and it can go up to -30°C for couple weeks during the winter. All three cities are booming due to the present commodity prices. These cities are very clean and much better than most of the cities in the US. Lot of people (most of the immigrants) end up in Toronto without much knowledge about Canada in the first place. Toronto is not good for engineers. Ontario and Quebec are manufacturing based economies where as mid-west and western part of Canada is based on natural resources. There are lot of IT jobs in Calgary at this time. |

Personally i lived in Canada for some time and commuted to work in Detroit...
If you want to live in Canada its best option, I mean you have to live there for long term benifits, kani just manitain chesi want to come back to US its not profitable/not worth.
LAtely i heard US immigration is taking time so canada is best option ....i mean aslu student ga unnapudu veyadam is very safe bet..once you are out of MS you will get immigration and after maintiang ofr three yeas you get canadain citizenship which is safe and best..PAki gallu do this manollu as we have many options we don't think of this when we are studying here...
bottomline if you want to live in canada appy or its waste... |
