The domain of Telugu Film Industry, in the early eighties, acclimatized the concept of introducing the heroes from the lineage of Big Stars. Even the titles of the new successors were adopted from their fathers. Akkineni Nagarjuna entitled ‘Yuva Samrat’ and Nandamuri Balakrishna is called ‘Yuva Ratna’. However, many accept the truth that Nagarjuna was initially acclaimed only because of his lineage. His performance and appearance in his early days on Silver Screen was unbelievably poor even to the then contemporary times. But still the audience encouraged such disgusting performer and eventually made him a star. Slowly, by boosting the confidence he nurtured himself as a star without replicating the histrionics of his father. The saga of sons’ era in Tollywood continued from Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Bala Krishna to the recent Prabhas, Sumanth, Jr NTR, Mahesh Babu et al. But they could survive in the field with their parental support and inherited fan following. Yet Nandamuri Tarakaratna being the grandson of legendary NTR is still sweating on the screen for success. Similarly EVV Satyanarayana’s sons Naresh and Aryan Rajesh are fighting for accomplishment. The history of brothers’ era in Telugu Film Industry was knowingly started with Pawan Kalyan and it’s carried to the recent flop heroes of ‘143’ (Director Puri Jagannath’s Brother) and ‘Sorry! Naaku Pellaindi’ (Hero Ravi Teja’s Brother). In the same juncture, renowned Comedian Brahmanandam introduced his son into the field with ‘Pallakilo Pelli Kuturu’. It’s a flop at the box office. On the other hand MS Narayana, who is yet to be known to a good number of Telugu audience, introduced his son with ‘Koduku’. He hasn’t thought about Dasari Arun Kumar and Senior Director K.Raghavendra Rao’s son before introducing his son. It’s all speculating for the fate. No one is stepping back to check his luck. But the struggle is becoming inevitable for every new actor who is a successor. When the actors of previous generations struggled and groomed themselves before entering into the industry, the present generation is struggling to spruce up after entering the field.
