Amisha Patel is simply hot, sexy and seductive. There wasn't much fro her, in the acting front. Her 'assets' which she shows without inhibition are definitely an asset to the film

Story : Naani (Mahesh Babu) is a 8 year old kid, who had enough of mama's tantrums in life, and wants to end it. But he is rescued by a scientist called Science (Raghuvaran) who promises to make Naani a 28 year old. But that catch is that only his physique is that of a 28-year old, but his mentality is still that of a 8-year-old. So the age-conflict between his mind and body is the story about. So this 28-year-old joins as a product designer in a toy manufacturing company owned by Priya's (Amisha Patel) father - Nazar. She falls truly, madly, deeply in love with Naani, but he being a kid cannot reciprocate his feeling and does it in an rather unusual way. Meanwhile realizing that Naani had runaway from home her mother Indira (Devayani) lodges a complaint with police and repents for what she had done. Situation force Naani to marry Priya and without knowing that he even had sex with her, he makes her pregnant. Then, Naani realizes that his mother really loves him and asks the professor to turn him back into a kid. He comes back to his original form, but not forever. Naani remains as 8 year old, physically between 6AM to 6PM and turns into a 28-year-old man after 6PM. So he takes the responsibility of being Amisha's husband, Devayani' son, company's employee and a school student all at once. The films ends with an anti-climax where Amisha Patel comes to know about it, delivers a baby boy and puts up with it for the rest of her life.
Performances : Though Mahesh tries to put up a promising performance, there is no support from the script, just like Nijam. He mimics Jim Carrey and Boman Irani a lot. Its strange that though his mentality is that of a 8-year-old he acts like a mature youngster at times. His commercial strengths are dances and fights. While there wasn't much of the former in the film, he did well in the fights. Amisha Patel is simply hot, sexy and seductive. There wasn't much for for her, from the acting part. Her 'assets' which she shows without inhibition are definitely an asset to the film. Devayani's acting is mixed. She had done a few 'low-spirited' scenes in a comical manner. It's not known if it's her style, or if the director had modulated it that way. Mahesh's real-life newphew Ashok Galla was cute and did the character with so much ease, it looks like he inherited acting skills. Aishwarya, daughter of yesteryear actress Lakshmi plays the role of Amisha's pal and looks like she is a caricature of a popular star. Raghuvaran is okay as the scientist, and so was Nazar whose role was short. Comedians Ali, Bramhanandam were pushed into the script just to evoke comedy. But Sunil's special 'fart comedy track' towards the end was hilarious though disgusting. Anjala Jhaveri, Kiran Rathod appear in a song and are hard to recognize, as their faces weren't shown clearly.
Technical Departments : The story provided by S.J Suryah is inspired from the English film Big, and is weirdly adapted. Most of the people could not connect the to the film, and the very concept was rejected. Though his story was bad, his screenplay skills were not all that bad. The story is boring not because it goes at a very slow pace, but doesn't make sense. He used dialogue boxes, inter-cuts, graphics effectively to narrate the story. His direction as such was average, and doesn't match the standards of his earlier flicks Vaali or Kushi. A few of the comedy scenes he created, were a straight lift from Tom and Jerry, Jetsons cartoon. Below are a few
1) Raghuvaran creates a crossbreed insect between bees and flies. They bite anyone whom he orders to.
2) Naani's pal shoves up a gas pipe in Bramhanandam's back to which he bloats up.
3) In the end while trying to create a cure for Naani, Raghuvaran creates a new dog. It has the head of Sunil and the body of a dog.
4) Raghuvaran gets up from his bed, and machine comes from below and brushes his teeth, and another robot-hand brings him a bowl to spit into. Again a pipe comes from above from where water comes and he gargles. Then from his bed he automatically moves into a room where he is dressed 'electronically'.
5) The kid-Naani gliding though people's legs on a skate board in a theme park where he is chased by Bramhanandam.
The dialouges by Sobhan are filled with double entendres, but still there were a few sensible quotes here and there. He openly used the popular double meaning of 'gurram ekkadam' for sex. There were a few other dialouges like 'Nenu kodithe Dhimma Thirigi, Bomma Kanapadala' raised the decibels in the theatre. The art by Anand Sai was good while, the choregraphy by Raju Sundaram, Brinda, Saroj Khan doesn't make any impact. Vijayan master and Allan Amin's fights were well composed. Other than fights, Vijayan master also lent technical support for a canning of few scenes in the Spiderman song and a few comical sequences. Lastly, A.R Rehman who caused so much delay in the release of the movie dint deliver the good this time. The re-recording was okay, while the song 'Chakkara Ekkada Nakkina' and 'Pedave Palikina' was good. 'Vasta Nee venuka' starts off well, but the tempo falls half way though. Guhan's cinematography is good but too many filters were used, which resulted in an inconsistent lighting scheme. Though the Spiderman song wasn't very interesting, it was well-executed by the cinematographer.
Analysis : Director Surya tried to create a film for the youth, children and families but fails to do so as mixes up all the elements. The director should have made a masala-fare targetted the youngsters. A total 40-minute starring Ramya Krishna and the song 'Markandeya' was deleted from the film. Maybe that would have bettered the prospects of the film. The first half of the film was okay as the story progressed at a slow pace. The director consumed a lot of time trying to establish the characters. The second half goes at a faster pace, but more weird things happen on screen. The climax could have been better. The lead pair Mahesh Babu, and Amisha Patel is the movie's only saving grace. The comedy cum romance track where Amisha 'yearns for love' from Mahesh is good. The film opened to housefuls and was released in over 280 theatres. Since the opening day's audience were mostly fans, they were a disappointed lot as the film lacks commercial elements. So lets wait and watch what the general youngsters and family audiences have to say.
