What's the use in giving one hit and two miserable flops, he needs to be consistant.
Even if we forget about the flop or hit ratio he needs to understand what the fans want from him.
After Okkadu he gave a statement saying that now he understands what his fans want and would not dissappoint them.We know the story later.
Every movie he does, he says the script moved him or motivated him. I really don't understand how he gets motivated by all these silly scripts. |

After exposing First few reels itself Mahesh should know whether it's shaping up properly or not. If it's not coming properly then just don't spend too much time, money and energy.

The response to Nani, even from hardcore fans, is a clear indication of a career in crisis. For the diehard optimists that Arjun will still resurrect Mahesh’s career, I have only this to say. At what cost?
The same issues fans and detractors were discussing prior to Okkadu are again at the forefront. These include lack of planning, poor choice of subjects, poor choice of film makers and arrogance.
1 or 2 movies released in a year to year and a half is absolutely poor planning, especially when there were so many producers / directors willing to make movies with you. Yet, you chos to make movies with your own people as producers, at a huge cost, without proper regard to deadlines or budget. Based on the manner in which money was spent for your own productions such as Vamsi, Nani, Bobby (included as “own” because of “mavayya” KRR’s lenience in giving you a blank cheque for this movie) and the output from these movies, let’s get one thing very clear. You and your close associates are not producer material. You do not know how to make marketable films. It’s time you give this up and let experienced producers handle your future films with their subjects and at their budgets since they know your worth in the market better than you obviously do. The incessant statements implying that you were spending a lot of money in order to encourage other producers to come up with high budget stories are now proven to be a sham. The story determines the budget along with a pulse on marketability and your team has no judgment of any of these factors.
Your ability to choose subjects is, at best, immature. The only 2 sensible choices you have made are Okkadu and Murari, but a large part of the credit for that goes to its directors who happened to be story writers of those subjects. Please stop being under the illusion that your fans love you for your acting because, if that is really true, you don’t need huge budgets and 1 years’ worth of shoots to keep them happy. Any low budget art film where you can act to your heart’s content will be sufficient. The fact of the matter is your fans don’t care how great an ACTOR you are; they would rather see you as a great STAR. Stardom sells movies and sustains average movies, sometimes converting them to hits. Great acting is only a part of that whole package. Choosing roles for acting scope to the exclusion of all other factors (Nijam, Nani) is like making Ugadi pachchadi with only sweet sugar or jaggery. It just doesn’t work!
Forsaking M. S. Raju’s Varsham for Nijam was the dumbest and most arrogant move you made in your career, all for the sake of wanting to do something “different”. Well, Nijam and Nani are “different” subjects and your audience showed you their “indifference” at your choices. Not touching base with your dad on choice of subjects is another kind of arrogance. The fan base you have, including fans like me, is a gift from your dad. It was left to you to enhance his prestige by protecting that base and adding to it. You are now in danger of losing that base if you do not deliver. Arjun needs to be an industry hit, followed by at least another superhit and a hit if you are to be taken seriously by your fan base. Else, there are other deserving entertainers who have entertained Telugu audiences who would rightly deserve your fans’ time, energies and money.
Remember your brother Ramesh Babu’s fate. The audience rejected him because of his own follies. Yet, even he never had the kind of duds you’ve unleashed on us. You now need to prove you are deserving of our support. We have grown tired of waiting for you to deliver, we have grown tired of the indifferent output you’ve delivered, and we have grown tired of still standing up and being counted as your fans. It’s time to shape up or ship out!
