21 years back ante in 1982 Rs 2 for KG rice is not bad at all. But to do that in 1990s is not possible. But NTR wanted COngress to do that.

Tirupathi development is lot to do with TTD. But NTR did good job in that. CBN also did pretty well infact more.

16. Has a unique record where by the only CM who was bought back to power on public demand (Sept, 1984)..
17. Holds a unique record where by his party became the 2nd largest party in the parliament after Cong-I (1984). The feet which never happened in Indian political history.. (For that matter, I have never read anywhere, where by a regional party is the main opposition party in any country's parliament, but I'm not too sure of this).
18. Instrumental in reuniting all the national opposition parties and forming a consolidated alliance and became the chariman of it.. The biggest success, is where by uniting, completely different ideology parties like BJP,Communists, JD etc and forming a strong alliance with the likes of V.P.Singh, Mulayalam, Lallu, Vajpayee, Advani, JyothiBasu,Karunanidhi etc and heading the alliance.. But, he rejected the then deputy prime minister(1989) since his party lost in A.P. Was the default choice for Prime minister ship in 1996 parliament elections for the United Front but unfortunately died 4 months before the election..
19. Has ruled the Telugu Film Industry for more than 3 decades.. Still, he is so popular and even nearly 10 years after his death, his mention brings ruptures in the theatres.. He is the most popular hero telugu film had ever seen..
20. The most versatile actor (for that matter, in whole India) who can do justice to any role.. Can you show anyone who is successful in protraying both Rama and Ravan roles, Krishna and Duryodhana roles.. The reason I'm specifically mentioning about these 4 roles because they're completely different from one another (Rama * Ravana, Krishna * Duryodhana) and I haven't seen anyone as successful as NTR in doing equal justice for all the roles..
21. Speaking of his box office success will be a long story and the single phrase "He is the most successful commercial hero" explains everything..
22. Apart from actor, he is a successful painter, director, story writer, producer, editor etc. He is a one man show..
23. He came from a very normal back ground and had phenominal success in both movies and politics.. His dedication, commitment, hard work need not be mentioned again..
24. Politicians/partys/actors/people refer to NTR's name even now (almost 10 years after his death) just explains why he is still that popular

MGR's house backyard was a graveyard of his political opposition. scores of people were killed and buried there - anyone that raised a voice against him. at the same time, he did do a lot for the downtrodden with some innovative schemes. but ilantodiki Bharat Ratna ivvadam was a shame. pure opporunistic politics.

I have been to TN more than Zillion times, My dad friends have lot of business there, From my childhood i have seen and heard abt him, No tamilian whether its AIADMK or DMK member never talk bad abt him, For people thinking MGR doesnt deserve award then dont even think NTR deserved.
In politics MGR is miles ahead of NTR, he has more support and mileage than NTR. No question NTR is better actor than MGR but we are not talking abt acting, Amitabh is best actor and Kamal also but they never succeeded in politics.

MGR, Rajiv Gandhi were the most undeserving people who were awarded Bharatha Ratna.
PV Narasimha Rao govt awarded him Bhartha Ratna. PV did this to keep Sonia in good humor and also to silence people like Arjun SIngh.
MGR award was much due to vote bank politics.
