Matter Ento Naaku Assalu Ardham Kaaledu Mama. As the thrusting, preening, girls strutted their stuff on stage, the actor-judges kept muttering how embarrassing the whole rating process was. The contestants were judged over two rounds. But it was the first round which left the men looking askance. The girls were called to perform with props that ranged from chairs, sticks and poles while the judges assessed them on three criteria: face, body and oomph on a scale of one to ten.

Judges Abhishek Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi squirmed in their seats as the Item Bomb Hunt contestants gave it all they’ve got... and more It was a judgment day that proved to be torturous for the judges. Actors Abhishek Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi were left red-faced and almost speechless while rating the best girl from a field of 14 at the Zee-Musafir Item Bomb Hunt in Mumbai. They were then asked to read out their individual scores, then and there. A shocked Vivek Oberoi desperately tried to buy time and eventually looked at Bachchan asking him whether he’d like to go first. His red-faced Yuva co-star, clearly fidgety and ill-at-ease, burst out after muttering a few scores: “This is very embarrassing.” Equally stunned but standing on the sidelines, Yogesh Radhakrishnan, head of Zee music, which was sponsoring the event, said that he would “stop” the cattle show even as the disgusted audience staged a walkout. Later, Saroj Khan, also one of the judges, confirmed that they had no idea how the show would turn out. “We were not informed about the procedure, but I wasn’t embarrassed.” Nor, for that matter, were the contestants. “It was a fantastic experience. The amount of national and international exposure we got was fabulous,” said Sonia Arora, one of the participants. |
