Venu mama ee Sony Minidv camcorder aina konukku vella manu. Any TV in India supports all formats. So if you play from camcorder there shouldnt be any problem.
Now if your friend has a computer at home, he can convert them to PAL VCD's. Then you can play them on indian vcd players. ( Indian VCD players support all formats ).
Regarding voltage, sony battery cgarger is universal. Only you will need a cap for plug which is available everywhere in India for Rs 5-10.
So dont worry take any camcorder, |

When you’re buying a Camcorder for India, the first and foremost, you should be looking for is, whether it is PAL or NTSC. Even if you buy a NTSC one, in India, they can convert the recorded cassette/disc. I got one almost 4 years back and at that time, I heard that in India, NTSC won’t work.. So, I got a PAL one. But off late, I’m hearing that currently in India, our new televisions support both PAL and NTSC.. You can double check on this. Any how, you live close to Oak Tree road right, you can go to any Desi electronics shop and can check with them..

dont know the model but from sony there is one little tiny camcorder came. the tapes should be available in india too. there is vcr available in NJ (for indian electricity) which plays indian vhs tapes and US version tapes. u can record in indian version to play and record.
make sure u can record the camcorder contents onto computer and then copy back to CDs. take a small dvd player from here which will play those CDs.
follow the above specifications and goto bestbuy or ckt city.

My Colleague is leaving this Friday to India and all of a sudden he got idea to buy a CAMCORDER and go.
We both don't have much of an Idea of what to look for when buying a Camcorder.
Will you please help us out?
Do we have to buy a PAL Camcorder or can we do away with NTSC one?? Can we buy a NTSC one and can it be converted?? What are the other things we need to worry about when buying a Camcorder for India?
