I understand Spitfire. Society and police might have done injustice to him and many in the process due to some stupid fellows. This is the high time we should build a system to avoid such mistakes by our system.
Also Veerappan shouldn't have touched wildlife poaching and the process of smuggling sandalwood.
He made ways to lots of chota mota smugglers and it went into a big business in the name of Veerappan.

Nor, am I interested in brewing a controversy.
I just happend to one of these person, who while thinking he was a pest to soceity and should have been elimiated long ago. On the other hand I always thought the reason for his existance/prominance is
a stroy every body should know. I have read some literature and bigorpahies and have believed that he has been done injustice( by society and police) , but he overused his sympathy and somehwere along the way transfromed from a Robinhood to a cold blooded criminal.

I will not take back my statement. But will give an explanation. He served the greater good.
Yes, he killed innocent policeman in the bargain. He should have resorted to less rigorous means. I not syaing he is a role-model, but he reaaly belived in what he wanted to do, and he treated the police system as an entity.
This was after his wife, sister were raped in front of him, and he had to kill shis own son when he was being sourrounded by police. When his brother Arjunan wanted peace, which he as promised and eradicated.
Please do not mis interpret my posts as saying Veerpan was a nble and human being, but what I saying is that his revolt and actions are justfied if you know his entire stor whic has been well chronicled in literature and newspapers.

Just as he father in the curch of Gopinatham said, he who stole the candle will rise to new great heights and will foever remain a fixture in the minds of the local people}.
No wonder that JJ had persued him with great determination, she has her own reasons.
But as an adhrite, I should condemn his act of killing Special Officer Srinivas from Rajamundry, who was genuinely intereted in capturing him alive. Apart from that, IMO he was a necessary evil.

Dreaded sandalwood smuggler Veerappan and three of his associates were killed on Monday night, a top Tamil Nadu police official told PTI.
A Special Task Force team of the Tamil Nadu police, headed by Jaykumar, shot dead the dacoits in an encounter at Papparapatti village in Dharmapuri district
