Here is my conclusion..
1) Keep ganguly in onedays, drop him in test matches ( atleast for one series )
2) Drop parthiv laxman, shewag for one series..Take dinesh karthik or the guy from karnataka...
3) Sachin should take enough rest to play for more years
4) groom players like rayudu, gambhir, venkat rao...
5) Keep yuvi in team not as a opener..
6) Give chopra one more chance for atleast one series...
7) Train couple of players as openers..

i don't agree with your post 2410 MF mama...every player you mentioned will have commitment. But what the thing is if one plays a good innings he will be there in the team for other 20 matches irrespective of his play. If you take the case of lakshman all will look at eden garden innings but not the present form.
so is it necessary for sachin to play with his injury. Atleast he would have informed to selectors that i need rest which was not done. |

I agree that any player if not playing well should be dropped irrespective of status, Whether tendulkar or ganuly or dravid.
Tendulkar consistency/commitment is only next to Dravid. So I dont think he should be dropped.. His presence in team is itslef a big morale boost till team is built that doesnt need his presence. And time has come for that. As he will be gone after 3-4 years..
But other players like shewag, laxman, ganguly are most inconsistent. They play only if they fear that they will be dropped like shewag's last innings.. Now is he is assured in team till 4-5 test matches.. This should be gone... |

There should be no pressure on anybody. why should it put pressure on tendulkar?
coming to your own example, chopra used to block the balls (in your terminology waste the balls) but on the other side Veeru used to score.

Can you imagine BCCI dropping a player of the calibre of Mark Waugh? Some things persist, just can't change them. U can take countless occassions where Australian board dropped players or gave them a hint irrespective of their fame (Allan Border, Waugh brothers etc).

I think the whole Indian team needs to be dropped and selected fresh again.
The rift between Tend and Gangs is very obvious. This is not good for the team.
Ganguly, no doubt he is a great captain, but becoming worst in his batting.
