If I am correct Amayakudu Kaadhu Asaadhyudu ran 100 days in Raj 70 MM.
So is Kiraayi Kotigaadu and Ramarajyam lo Bheemaraju.
Surprising thing is Naa Pilupe Prabhanjanam which ran 100 days in regular shows at Hyderabad didnt have 50 day run also. This shows that Krishna's political sattire movies didnt find fancy in the home district of NTR |

Behind every successful man is a woman, and this is true in our superstar's case also. His wife Indira garu personifies all the good qualities of Krishna and probably influences him to do the kind of good deeds he has always done, without ever stepping into the glare of his stardom. A couple of anecdotes illustrate this.
In one early 1990s industry related marriage function, there were so many film celebrities including Krishna, Indira garu and Vijayanirmala. As usual Vijayanirmala stuck close to Krishna but Indira garu moved around freely amidst the guests who were all familiar to her as part of the film industry family.
Lots of fans also showed up and an enthusiastic fan thrust an autograph book in front of Indira garu. "Entamma idhi?" she asked. Indira garu and Krishna always address their fans as "...amma"
"Mee autograph kavalandee".
"Naadendhukamma?"
"Maa superstar ki bharya gaaru kadhandee"
"Naakenduku cheppu ivannee. Ee autographlu avvee glamour unnollakamma, adugho aa department akkadundhee, akkada theesukomma autograph" ani atu pakkane vunna Vijayanirmala vaipu choopinchi thappinchukunnaaru. For her, Krishna was a star, she was only the dark of the night in which the star's shine lights up the lives of all his fans.
In another incident, after several producers failed to pay Krishna for his services, Krishna, under financial strain, started taking part of the payment in advance. Indira garu did not like Krishna doing that. She noted to fans visiting her "Maa aayana kooda janala gonthulu koyadam nerchukunnaadamma ippudu". Fans were shocked. They asked her for an explanation. She simply said "Producers place their trust in him and I expect them to repay the trust by paying whatever they can after the release of the movie, depending on its success. I don't like him distrusting his producers like this. Taking money from a producer before the start of the movie is like cutting off his financial strength as he tries to complete the movie. It is not a good approach."
Those were different times when people had entered the industry from the agricultural sector and people knew how similar the problems faced by farmers and film producers were as they tried to grow their product and market it on the security of trust and financial scarcity. Today's times are totally different when "stars" have no clue on how to respect a producer who is the primary cause of their growth and success. |
