sorry to say.. then.. it would have more simpler to recover data... only OS files would have been messed up.. by booting up with recovery disk or some other OS.. system would come up without an issue.
I dont want to burn it more but.. here is the LIVE CD OS utility which allows u to recover disks..

adi hard disk error kaadu mama..
The only way i could get into the system is by formatting..
safemode lo enter avvataaniki try chesa..
but loop lo padi nattundi..
boot avutunna screen vachi.. malli restart ayyi..
malli ade screen vastundi..
so did not have another option... |

harddisk poyi vuntundi mama.. u shld have taken out the harddisk and tried to recover it from other utilities.. by taking it out in a separate hard disk enclosure or there are some disk utilities to get any data out..
u shld have been posted in DB.. we would have helped u atleast to recover it..

it worked fine for abt 1.5 yrs
i think for abt 1500 bucks u can go for Inspiron 9200 |

oh shit man...
heads up for back up of data.. 
same thing happened with me three months back when I shifted from 600m to d600.. but it was human error... 
i gave my laptop to take out some aPPs loaded by the client in my old 600m.. and specifially told them not to format other partitions.. and just partition C drive. That guy formatted the whole disk and everything went off...
Vaadiki enti raa nenu cheppindi .. enti chesindi enti.. ante.. I dont know.. i put a silent installation production CD and it did everything for me ani okka maata lo finish chesadu.. naaku mathi poyings

and songs..around 5 gb songs..
asalu problem ento teliyadu..
it did not let me in.. even in safe mode..
aina back up lekapovatam naa tappu..

oh, try ebaying mama... hopefully u will get a deal... the latest ones are selling for 1000 to 1200.. so u can expect 500 to 800 range... for 8500
and for 5100 - 500 to 600 bucks... a decent price..
mamalu.. next time while buying look for
intel pentium-M centrino mobile laptops with a max weight of 5 or 6 pounds... with good display and min. of 40 gig space and 512 Meg RAM. |

mamma.. sorry.. my post was not based on ur laptop cost.. i thought it was some 2000 model P3 or lower.. so i said that...
we can not expect same cost always for technology prices.
we should always see such fast changing techonology products value in terms of whether this technology is still in market, the age of the system and depreciation...
So aa base meeda cheppanu...
u know, I sold my 60 days old brand new 600m laptop having 3yr next business day service laptop costed 1450 (including 3yrs support cost) for 1000 bucks...

old laptops is a PIA (pain in the ass) .. u just have to dispose it off in ebay for whatever u get.. there is no way to expect more for used stuff and outdated models.
put a sale for 50 bucks min. price and list it in ebay.. and waht ever u get is profit. and use this money and upgrade to a new one.
in dell, i suggest latitude d600. now a days inspiron 600m quality also sucks.. but it is equal to d600 in its class. |
