Now that G-mail beta has some bugs (even though they took care of it immediately) and agreed that they have some lazy-coding:::
I wonder what kind of people they are recruiting. In their site...they do mention that they need some hi-fi (Indian-IIT's, Cornell, Harvard..etc) candidates. So...this rises some questions. Are these hi-fi candidates are doing lazy-coding or the reviewers (or the managers) of the google are idiots....???? |

Google fixed... a minor (could it be a serios problem) bug in the e-mail system. Google took care of this bug with atmost priority. But it also agreed that there was some lousy(lazy) coding in the gmail-beta.
(I wonder when Migrosoft will agree their lazyness.... if not lazyness then cunningness)

i did not obsvere much in this direction.. if thats the case my profile still points to india address and way back as student..
i am not getting any related ADs as such.. but of late.. it looks like it is doing big business with yahoo mail.. and able to provide 250 meg free space. |

I too dont agree completely with you.. we know google is doing all this part of business.. but dont forget their basic business is search engine.. and its allied products..

i dont agree with this.
just the "google" gets lot of money for google people. Most of the universities and organizations in the USA and other parts of the world pay "google" for searching their sites. this is lot of money.
google has some other partners (hi5, etc).
there is lot of talk going that google will be launching "GBrowser" (i feel that it might not do in 2-3 years). if this comes into the market...then it will be another source of income.
Apart from this google actively invovles in other projects like super computing, digital libraries, etc.
In the future they will emerge as big a force...no doubt about it.

i am happy with yahoo too..

now...compare google... google is way better than yahoo and hotmail.
it is the first ever E-mail service system that has openly told that "it is going with ads". yahoo or hotmail never did that. they just keep it inside the privacy policy.
in the real world nothing comes for free. but some people will tell it frankly and some dont. that's the only difference. |

amazon does lot of cost analysis of products with many individual vendors registered with them... and comes to a lowest offering price to the consumer it can sell keeping its percentage.....
later it sells under amazon tag by internally raising a purchase order to concerned vendor with shipping it to direct consumer...

ok mama.. i will do it in my home pc tonight and will check on it..
regarding amazon or for that sake all retailers do behavior analysis with ur purchases.. they spend millions of dollars on these programmes to develop systems...
to make it more profitable they come up woth all cards with discount and blah blah ... we simply take it to get an extra discount with retailer card (jc penny, mervyns and ralphs, alberstons) ...

mama.. yahoo does not read content to generate ADs.. the spam is initiated from some spyware installed when u browse some websites.. yahoo or hotmail.. never does that...
reg. gmail... currently if this guy storing at each AD level on how many screen shots, how many pages being accessed... it is not a big deal to store it individually by adding one more "data column/field" to it.. to store user information.. and start mining on this based on user details.. then it is more damaging..
if it does such activity.. it may affect drastically.. but let us wait until it is open to public..

yahoo, amazon, etc are big spyware people. amazon recruited many professionals recently to develop some secret-automated-ad-ware-systems (advertising systems). yahoo installs spyware with IE.
look at yahoo or hotmail: you dont have to register anyware....but you will be flooded with junk mails. males...will get penis enlargment ads and females will get breast enlargement ads. these guys are more dangerous.
i feel that g-mail is the best.

g-mail uses the words just for creating ads. let us say you have something like "hey let us have sex" in your e-mail....then these words will be used for creating ads. so g-mail will take "sex" from your content. so what's the harm...if the take sex out of your stuff.

First of all.. how many of u read the privacy policy of gmail?
It takes each message content to search its AD database and gets u the relavant ones... so the content goes as a search page..
Is it safe to store some personal stuff? |
