http://www.telugucinema.com/c/index.shtml JP’s verdict: On the whole the film fails to entertain even its target audiences – mass audiences. NTR comes up with another Sankranthi dud.

According to FilmChamber alludu is flop.. Rating 5/10 Banner Bharati Entertainments Cast NTR, Genelia, Shriya, Ramya Krishna, Suman, Kota, Sharath Babu, Krishna Bhagwan, Charan Raj, Rajeev Kanakala, Dharmavarapu, Kanchi, Brahmanandam and others Story Mullapudi Vara Dialogues Ratnam Music Devi Sri Prasad Cinematography K. Ravindra Babu Producer Giri Screenplay & Direction Mullapudi Vara Released Date Jan 14/05 Links Photo Gallery Audio Review Theatres List Story Karthik (NTR) is an educated, cultured guy with lot of self-respect (call it Athmagouravam). An MBA, he comes for an interview at a business group with employee strength of more than 1. 5 lakh and that belongs to a proud and stylish lady Banumathi Devi (Ramya Krishna), who has two daughters Meghana (Shriya) and Gagana (Genelia). It so happens that the lady boss tears the certificates of NTR on the grounds that he teased her daughters. Karthik so subjected to shame makes a challenge with Devi. – “I will sit in your chair. Wait and see”. After arguments and counter arguments, she leaves for New Zealand . Karthik is after her daughters here. In order to check the advances of Karthik, Devi tells him that one of her daughters would be given in marriage to him after she returns to India . But she skips the word. How, Karthik wins the game forms the rest of the story and climax. Performance NTR plays a sort of dual roles – as soft and romantic Karthik and the second one as rough and tough Murugan. It is as Murugan that NTR performs his mass mannerisms. Of course, for the first time in his career, NTR is shown in a full length comedy flick. Though his dances and dialogue delivery are superb, there are fluctuations in his roles and body language much to the disappointment of the audience. His characterization is very much like that of the one in Allari Ramudu, though the director has repeatedly claimed freshness and novelty. Ramya Krishna plays the lead mother-in-law role. You find only over action on the part of Ramya. To some extent, you can say Nagma (in Allari Ramudu) is better than Ramya. However, there is good masala in the dialogue delivery and her shake with NTR in a mass song is average. Shriya and Genelia competed with each other in shaking their hips. Sometimes, their roles loose all interest and turn dull to watch. They are more like Nagma and Meena in Nag's movie Allari Alludu. Suman played the hero's mama, say heroines' father. Charanraj is the comedy villain, who had killed one of the brothers (NTR) when he is young. Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sarath Babu played the regular character roles, while Rajiv Kanakala is the early pick of Ramya Krishna as her son-law, but scuttled later. Brahmanandam appears in the role of a police officer, which is not appealing, though it is comical. All others played well in their limitations. Technical Details: Story and screenplay by Vijayendra Prasad is an utter disappointment. The Athha- Alludu tug is definitely a pale subject to one and all. Direction by debutant director Mullapudi Vara is messed up. Though he sustains the interest, that too a little one, in the first half, the second half is a major letdown. When the audience is familiar with NTR only in serious and mass roles, they find it a dull business to sit in the theatres watching the hero doing all sorts of comedy that comes with artificial flavor. Songs are a big saving grace to the movie. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is excellent. The drawback is that a couple of songs come as unwelcome numbers that don't match with the mood or screenplay. Lack of special steps for NTR comes as dissatisfaction to the fans. Dialogues by Ratnam are average. But for a couple of verbal exchanges between the in-laws (Ramya Krishna and NTR), all the stuff is normal sans any special effect. Stunts by Vijay are average. Since, the movie is a comedy flick; you don't find much punch in this department. Cinematography is good. FC Verdict: The movie generated below average talk all over the state. Trade pundits say it is going to be very tough for the movie to stand in the Shankranti race.
