On the last day before Christmas, I hurried to go to the supermarket to buy the gifts I didn't manage to buy earlier. When I saw all the people there, I started to complain to myself: 'It is going to take forever here and I still have so many other places to go...' Christmas really is getting more and more annoying every year. How I wish I could just lie down, go to sleep and only wake up after it was over. I started to curse the prices, wondering if kids really play with such expensive toys. While looking in the toy section, I noticed a small boy of about 5 years old pressing a doll against his chest. He kept on touching the hair of the doll and looked so sad. I wondered who this doll was for. Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: 'Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?' The old lady replied: 'You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.' Then she asked him to stay here for 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I started to walk towards him and asked who he wanted to give this doll to. 'It is the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for this Christmas. She was so sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.' I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus will bring it to her, after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can not bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mother so that she can give it to her when she goes there.' His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My sister has gone to be with God. Daddy say that Mummy will also go to see God very soon, so I thought that she could bring the doll with her to give it to my sister'. My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mummy not to go yet. I asked him to wait until I come back from the supermarket' Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me: 'I also want mummy to take this photo with her so that she will not forget me.' 'I love my mummy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister' Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and took a few bills and said to the boy. What if we checked again, just in case if u have enough money?' 'Ok' he said. 'I hope that I have enough.' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll, and even some spare money. The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money' then he looked at me and added: 'I asked yesterday before I slept for God to make sure I have enough money to buy this doll so that mummy can give it to my sister. He heard me' 'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mummy, but I didn't dare to ask God too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and the white rose.' 'You know, my mummy loves white roses A few minutes later, the old lady came again and I left with my trolley. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article 2 days ago, which mentioned of a drunk man in a truck who hit a car where there was one young lady and a ittle girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-assisting machine, because the young lady would not be able to get out of the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy in mind, I read in the newspaper that the young lady had passed away.I couldn't stop myself and went to buy a bunch of white roses and I went to the mortuary where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wish before burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place crying, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that this little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to that day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk man had taken all this away from him. |

One day a man was having a conversation with god when his whole life flashed before his eyes as a series of footsteps on the sands of time. He saw that there were two pairs of footprints, but during the most difficult periods of his life there were only one set of footprints. He asked god "You said you will be with me throughout this journey, but why have you deserted me during the most critical times of my life??" to which god answered "Son, I did not desert you, I was always with you...you see only one set of footprints because during those difficult times in your life, I was carrying you" Another day a S/w Programmer was having a similar conversation with his PM when his whole project flashed before his eyes as a series of footsteps on the sands of time. He saw that there were two pairs of footprints, but during the most difficult times in the project there were only one set of footprints. He asked his PM "You said you will be with me throughout the project, but why have you deserted me during the most critical times of the project??" to which the PM answered "Son, I did not desert you, I was always with you...you see only one set of footprints because during those difficult times, I was sitting on your head!!" |

There was an expectant father who had spent quite some time waiting for the offspring to arrive - at his in-laws' place. As his leave balance had gone into the red, he tells his father-in- law, "When my son comes, do not call up my office and say that I have become a father of a boy because I'll have to shell out a lot for parties. Just leave me a message that the clock has arrived. This will be our code for the arrival of the baby." The offspring does finally arrive one day, but it's a daughter. The father-in-law now thinks to himself, "If I tell him that the clock has not arrived, he'll misunderstand and think that something has happened to the baby and come rushing over." So the father-in-law left the following message: "The clock has arrived, but the pendulum is missing." |

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door. 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?' 'Yeah sure, what is it?' 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?' 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily. 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?' pleaded the little boy. 'If you must know, I make $35 an hour.' 'Oh, 'the little boy replied, with his head down. Looking up, he said, 'Daddy, may I please borrow $10?' The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you Can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you March yourself straight to your room and go to bed. I work long hard hours everyday and don't have time for such childish behavior.' The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think he may have been a little hard on his son. May be there was something he really needed to buy with that. The Man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door. 'Are you asleep, son?' he asked 'No Daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy 'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on your earlier,' said the man. 'It's been a long day, and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's that $10 you asked for.' The little boy sat straight up, smiling, 'Oh, thank you Daddy!' he yelled. Then reaching under his pillow he pulled out some money The man, Seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, 'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled. 'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied, 'Daddy, I have $35 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'

He met her on a party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he was so normal, nobody paid attention to him. At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to being polite, she promised. They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me go home. suddenly he asked the waiter: 'would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee.' Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but, still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it. She asked him curiously : why you have this hobby? He replied: 'when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I liked playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea ,just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my home town, I miss my home town so much, I miss my parents who are still living there'. While saying that tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched. That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home. Then she also started to speak, spoke about her far away hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story. They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets all her demands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted, warm, careful. He was such a good person but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee! Then the story was just like every beautiful love story, the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life... And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, as she knew that's the way he liked it. After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said:' My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie I said to you---the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt it was hard for me to change so I just went ahead. I never thought that could be the start of our communication! I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything.. Now I'm dying, I afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste..But I have had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you. Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life. If I can live for the second time, still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again'. Her tears made the letter totally wet. Someday, someone asked her: what's the taste of salty coffee? It's sweet. She replied.

Okies, I heard this story a few days back. I goes like this… There are 4 people, Suman, Harish, Inder and Lavanya.[lavanya is a chic] They are very good friends. But, there is a special friendship between Suman and Lavanya. They are in love with each other. All the other people know about their special relationship. One day, Lavanya tells her parents that she is madly in love with Suman and wants to marry him. Her dad tells her that Suman is not of her caste and hence she cannot marry him. Lavanya does not listen to her parents advice and still wants to marry Suman. Her dad says, if she marries Suman, she is dead for them and she will loose all her right to her parent’s property. Lavanya agrees to this and she goes out of the house, just wearing a saree. She does not take any jewelry or clothes… It so happens that there is a river flowing between lavanya’s house and the guyz house. So, to reach Suman’s house, she has hire a boat for crossing. When Lavanya reaches the river, she finds that she had not cash and somehow she has to cross the river. The Boat belongs to a person called Manoj. He says that he had not made any money that day and she is his first customer. He has a Small kid to feed and to feed him at least he needs some money. Since Lavanya has no money, he tells her, that if she gives him her saree, he will sell it and with money obtained he will feed his kid. Manoj promises lavanya that he will not touch her and she does not have to worry about traveling in the boat without saree. Lavanya agrees to it and then crosses the river in Manoj’s boat. She then reaches Suman’s house and tells him the problems in her house. Suman is ready to marry Lavanya. But, then Suman’s parents tell him that he is their only son and he has to take care of siblings stuff like that…since he is the only SON, he cannot leave them. Suman agrees to whatever his parents tell him and he tells lavanya that because of his liabilities he cannot marry him. Now, Lavanya proceeds to Harish’s places, which is near by. When she speaks to Harish, he tells her that, he is a very good friend of Suman and he cannot marry her as it might affect his friendship with Suman. Then Lavanyam proceeds to Inder’s house. She tells him all the things that happened in her house, suman’s house and in Harish’s house. Since Inder is also a good friend of Lavanya, he tell her not to worry. He tells her that he is ready to marry her. They get married. This is the end of the story. Now. This is for all the people who have read this story. Can ya tell me which character you like the best and also put the characters in a list , in an order which you like them. For EG: the best character first and then the next …for all the 5 characters…. i.e Suman, Harish, Inder, Lavanya also Manoj.
