>>cars lo Multi CD changers manesi, MP3 players yettinchukunnaru.. this is because of ease of use. One audio CD can hold 13 songs at the max = 1 hour of music, you need to change the cd after that. On the other hand, a mp3 CD can hold 120+ songs = aorund 10 hours of non-stop music |

>>mostly I could not find diference from a regular CD well this is the grey area. Actually, the quality also depends a lot on the speakers that you use. Use a Ipod and normal speakers, you dont find diff. Use a Sennheiser headphone and u can notice the diff. Use a hifi music system and then you can notice the diff between original CD format and mp3. |

>>does it not depend on the bit rate you are converting?? whatever be the bit rate, you are doing conversion. conversion results in loss of data and hence quality. (though u may not notice it) For eg. take a DVD movie and rip it using Divx and thats the diff. |

>>here is one that is around $200 , how different is this from IPOD ?? IPod is basically more popular because of its looks and easy of its use (click wheel) The other models may not look as good as IPod but quality wise there won't be much difference. The regular 20GB / 40GB players are bulky and hence they feel heavy when you carry them in your pockets.

>>Thanks Smart and AW mamalu for the input. so to summarise, 1) first upload all cd's into Computer as as MP3/ WMA format 2) update the track information such as movie name, song name, singers, etc... 3)find a suitable mp3 player and transfer Brad mama, You have to understand one thing here. CD quality is always better than any of these converted formats. Though you may not notice much difference. Hence, the idea of disposing CDs and replacing them with mp3/wmv is a bad idea IMO. If you really want to store (backup) your songs, then the best place is burn them as data CDS/DVDS. Each CD can hold around 125 songs, and obviously DVD around 7 times more. Ipods and any other mp3 players are meant for ease/ portability for music lovers. For eg. to listen music while at work (for those who can't use internet), for working out in GYM, travelling etc. Hence, you need to decide what's your primary use. If you ask me, I would like to have a tiny player though it may not have much space. Hence, I would go for Ipod shuffle (1GB - around 200 songs) or Ipod mini (4GB - around 1000 songs)

Ipod supports various formats like mp3 and Itunes. Itunes is a proprietary for Apple... mana daggara Audio CD unte, you can rip them into various formats, one of which is mp3, which is very popular. Similarly ITunes is one type of format. English songs can be downloaded from Apple in ITunes format for around $1 per song. Ipods can also be used as portable memory storage. Its basically a harddisk with embedded software. Track info is nothing but the Album Name, Song title, singers etc. These can be provided to any format (mp3) and they are not mandatory.

If you rip them from original CD then you will have all the info (track #, singers etc..) If you have downloaded them from the net , then you will have to enter the info manually. you edit the properties of the song on the PC itself and upload it to IPOD |
