>>mama how do get the menu for playmovie or songs You need to have files for each songs separately and file for movie separately. Then add each of them while authoring Or Add the same file into DVD author. Add two chapters one for movie and Another for songs. Then for songs edit the movie for songs by adding additional chapter for each song.. Movie menu will have only one chapter for movie ( Or more depends on how you want ) . Songs menu will have each song as chapter. |

Manishi Mama thats what I am telling to Need info mama.. AVI/DiVX itself is a compressed file from a DVD, SO uncomressing to original bitrate is a big process. So it has to take its time uncompressing it and going back to original bitrate. what you said is correct. You loose quality.. Also there are not tools still available which does this without loosing time... But imagine downloading a 4.3GB instead of 1.4 GB. You save lot of time doing so.. But on other hand you loose the quality and extra effort in reauthoring by adding songs, chapters etc., But this is less than the downloading time.. Fortunately now people are keeping the both DVD-R and compressed AVI/DivX directly in the internet for downloads so that you can download which ever you want.. Manishi mama >>>VCD/CD's theppinchukune sthomatha undadhu Same case ... few might not be interested in spending extra money for renting DVD's.. I agree you get quality, but what I observed is that most of DVD's in Indian stores cannot be ripped because of bad handling of DVD's ( scratches ). |

MF/Needhelp mama, The reason for longer conversion process is that your are downloading a DIVX avi file which is a compressed file. Now to convert this to a regular Mpeg format is 2 layered, so it will take longer time. Now if you need to burn this file to a dvd then you can do it via TMPGENC or VEGAS video. Vegas video lets you edit the movie inserting the chapters also. I have used this process only for converting my camcorder tapes to a DVD. But I would suggest that you are wasting time in burning a DIVX file. If the DVD is avialable then burn it and it is very easy to do that . Max of 45 mins to burn the dvd. I posted the procedure for burning an existing DVD in this post.

Chapters anedi nee ishtam when you author yourself.. There is no way in TMPGENC to enter times. You have to edit the movie define start and end frame to add a chapter. |

The other option is that you get raw file like AVI, RM files. This will not have any menus or chapters its just a single movie file.. You use TMPGENC 2.5 to conver to MPEG compatible to DVD.. Then USe DVD Author1.6 software to author the DVD. HEre you create menus, add chapters etc., etc., This author software then writes the converted MPEG to VIDEO_TS folder as VOB files Then USE DVDauthor DVD writint tool to write that VIDEO_TS folder |

NI mama.. I will post separate posts for two Q's Burning a existing DVD, This will be either DVD ripped or already authored. This will have all menu's chapters etc., as you see in DVD.. In this cases you already have everything so just burn it using TmpGEnc DVD Auhtor DVD writing tool.. |

NI mama if you have a DVD as VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS format, TmpgENc DVD author software will burn the DVD. If it is in ISO or BIN format, then you need to bring it as this format.. |

NI mama.. You need to use TMPGENC 2.5 or 3.0 to convert the files to MPEG.. Then you need to use TmPGENC DVD Author 1.0 to author a DVD and burn a DVD.. This version is avaibale in pegasys-inc... This burns a DVD ( Write DVD Tool ). If you are converting AVI to DVD, you can burn more than one dvd, but you will loose quality.. Hindi, telugu, tamil movies its not the better option to burn more than one movie onto a DVD,, But English movies, you can do.. What you have to do is that when you convert using TMPGENC, there is an option where you can change the Bitrate. Change this so that output file size becomes 48-50%. Then you can burn two movies onto a DVD using DVD author software giving two files... |

Manishi mama... >>>I can do it in exactly 15-20 mins to convert a 3 hour movie loaded with extras ! Are you talking about convert a AVI file to DVD? I am talking about that... If I need to copy a DVD, I just use 1) DVD Shrink software to copy into hard disk this takes 12-15 minutes 2) Burn that backup to DVD using TmPGEnc this will take 15-20 minutes. So I also burn one in 35 minutes. But the key is in converting DVD ripped DVIX, AVI files back to DVD is time taking. Unfortunately there are not tools available which does this very fast.. Also after you convert, you need to re author and then burn thats why it takes lot of time.. |

Needinfo mama, Are you downloading a .avi files? hmm they are the worest mama ! And if you convert them to a dvd you will be loosing all the quality. The time you spend to d/L can be spent on going to the store and renting the DVD and burning it ! Most indian grocery stores have a monthly membership fee($ 12- $ 15) where you can rent 2 movies at a time. So just copy the source and return the dvd's. If you take a month's membership then you are all set ! |

MF mama, TMPGENC takes a lot of time for the conversion. Of course the time to convert depends on the cpu and memory of your system. I have a Pentium IV 3.0 GHZ with 1 GB of HyperX memory ! I have 16x-DVD rom and plextor 8x DVD-RW. Now steps to burn the DVD. 1. Decrypt the DVD using DVD DECRYPTER - 10 mins 2. COmpress/Shrink using DVD2ONE - 15 mins (max 20 mins) 3. Burn using Nero express - 12 mins 4. Scan the image and print the label - 1 min So total DVD burning is 38 mins

needinfo mama, Couple of questions ! what is the size of the downloaded file? If it is less than 4.37 gb then you can directly burn it using Nero express withour re-authoring it. If you have downloaded a > 7.5 gb then you need to re-author it for compress the movie. DVD2ONE or DVDSHRINK can do that for you.
