Daycare typically costs anything from 1000-1500 based on the place. If at all daycare is 2000 also its not a big problem. Definitely the salaries will be much higher and it ends up in more savings even after the huge daycare bill tooo.

depends NI mama.. My friend is spending 2000 per month for day care. Both are having jobs.
school is free only from Kindergarden.. But by the time one reaches KG, the second kid will be ready for day care. So it takes long time mama.. |

Aa $75000 save seyyatam with all other expenses going with out control(like going to India even bearing 1 month loss of pay, getting parents, sending money every now and than, giving $3000 for wipes Gold, giving $6000 for daughter's PO savings, getting a car spending $10000, sneding pamily to India 3 times in these 4 years, spending $2000 on canadian GC, going to various places in USA yearly twice) seems a very very tedious task!!

Okay many people here say the same thing that they eventually want to settle in India. For most of us we have certain limitations/goals to take ultimate decision. So now what are you doing to achive yours goals so that you can buy one way tkt to India.
I will give mine:
-- Got green card 2yrs ago but decided not to buy home - so that I can eliminate on obstacle on my way.
-- Decided to send my daughter to India for education. She will be in India when she turns 3.
-- Spending the minimum possible so I can save more. Cutting down on India trips. Now trip is planned every other year instead of every year.
-- Brought parents and showed them USA. They didn't enjoy much but that task is done. They might come back here for 3-4 months trip in 2006. Planning to bring in-laws this summer.
-- Almost decided to buy one way tkt to India after I get USA+India passport (This might be around 2008 January - 3 full years ).
