My review..
Sankranthi - A complete family entertainer
Story is ordinary, but the taking was really good. Movie lo ekkada boring moments levu. There was a lot of scope to induce comedy in the first half, but the director probably didn't want to divert from the main thread. He established all the characters and there relationships with each other in the first half. The songs are good. The first song was okay and the second song with Aarti Agarwal could have been lot better. The locations are very good but the male and the female voices are bad. Bad choice of singers. The third song is a fast paced song with venky and sneha in one frame and srikanth and sangeetha in the other alternative frame. The picturisation is very good.
On the whole the first half is good. Venky's screen presence is abt 40 mins and he did very good. Much of his action was thru expressions rather than lengthy dialogues. Srikanth's role in first half is less, he doesn't have many dialogues.
The second half is based on how the relationships turn out after the entry of the daughter-in-laws and how the misunderstandings are overcome. The first song in the second half between venky and sneha is very good. It was shot in Turkey and it has great photography. The whole picturisation is awesome. The second song is between the young pair Balaji and Rathi.. its an alright song. The last one is a good family song. Venky and srikanth performed well in the second half. There are a lot of scenes which touch your heart. The director made sure that we are not overdosed with sentiment. The dialogues are apt and to the point. They touch you without making much pain, but leave u thinking later. The climax is very good. VenuMadhav's comedy bits in the second half though look inserted do not obstruct the narration. They really make u laugh and are an advantage to the movie.
On the whole its a good movie. A must watch film for all venkyfans and non-fans too. You might not enjoy it like u do the comedy films, but after watching the movie you would really think about your family and wish you were with them coz u would miss them.
