1. credit history peragAlanTE (from 0 credit history), have the utility bill, phone bill etc. on your name and pay the amount regularly.
2. payments of auto loans regularyly will be a major boost to credit history.
3. once after you get a card you don't have to pay it off everymonth. some credit card companies don't like it. the interest you pay is their income. suppose if you are given a card with a credit limit of 1000 dollars and if you have charged 800 on it and paid the minimum payment of 20 dollars the next month on time, your balance will be 780+ the interest accrued (depending on the APR). if you have used the card before the next billing cycle to charge another 30 dollars and pay 50 dollars the next month, your balance carried forward will be slightly more. but that shows to the other credit card companies who pull your credit history from the credit bureau that you are using the card regularly and paying the minimum payment regulary. that prompts them to offer you a card with the option of transfering your balance for 0% APR with more credit limit than the current one you have. If you accept the offer and transfer the balance, now you have a interest free loan on the new card and your first card with 0 dollar debt. don't use the new card until you pay off the balance since the APR on the new card for purchases is more than 0%. you can use your old card and pay off the balance everymonth and at the same time pay the minimum balance (required to pay off the balance on the new card before the 0% offer expires) on the new card.
4. as you your credit history stands in a good condition, you keep getting offers in the mail. just tear off the low credit limit solicitation offers.
5. Never ever miss the minimum payment needed to pay by the due date. if you don't pay for 30 days from the due date, your account will end up in collections. that is the point your credit history will get damaged. if you keep prolonging it, it will worsen further. once after your credit history gets screwed up, it takes atleast 7 years to get a new loan/card (atleast it was the case 5-10 years ago).
i am giving this 2 cents worth of advise after working for a credit card company for almost 10 years  |

For starters the best way to start is apply for Amex card (If students go for amex blue) and claim that ur US citizen with 40k+ salary. Even if u give SSN no one will bother to check ur history. U shud land up with a card 90% of the time. Another good way is to approach credit unions through personal reference. It definitely works out in DCU. Try there. In the begining utility bills is the best way to build ur history. I heard even having a cell ph in ur name for a year builds ur history. Taking a car loan and paying off in 3 years is the best option. Also leasing out apts in ur name. Itz always a best practice to check ur crecit score once in 6 months atleast. Once i got a parking ticket in Milwaukee and i delayed but paid the fine. When i checked my credit report it showed it went to a collection agency. Later i got to resolve that issue. |

Dont' do anything illegal, oka credit card kosam risk oddu.
WACHOVIA oka musti naa koduku, credit cards vishayam lo too much, too much strict. So try some where else. |

Take Amex Greencard by paying annual fee of $55. At the expiry of first year call them and say U want to cancel it. They will ask why. Say I dont want to pay annual fee
Then they will give u some other card which has no annual fee.

Maa friend gaadu pedda lecture ichindu: 5K pettetapudu research cheyyali ani...adi andariki telisinde kada neeku evi manchigaa anipinchaayi ante..
he suggested: Harmon Kardon :AVR7300 suggest chesadu.. the reason for Analog over digital reciever is the output quality is better and little bit heavy than digital ones...
he is using DPR1005 - its digital one and less weight. since he had to carry back to india... went for this one.
For subwoofer he suggested the following:
HSU research subwoofers. They are 100 R&D and innovation products and rated well.

Personally I felt, JBL ones are good that we bought. (All professional performance people and theatres use JBL woofers.)
For speakers he could not say anything. He simply suggested high Infinity speakers price wise.. but i was not happy with that answer. so i guess we need to do some research on this.
Another suggestion he mentioned was: there are some forums for home theatres. Just post a spending limit and request for suggestions of whole system. You would get good replies. check this option. |

DCU is better in the initail stages, but it does not help in improving your credit history.If you are working and can provide recent pay stubs they give credit card easily.
Venu, the best way to get cards for higher limits is to pay 1 or 2 of your cards and then apply for a card after 3 months. |

The procedure for these is:
I pay $0.56 per every $100 outstanding balance on my card every month. Than one fine day, if I loose my job and let us say I have a balance of $5000 on my card by than. I just has to send them my lay off letter and they immediately hold by balance for nearly 2 years. That two year period, the protector fee is not applied on this $5000, it stays the same and let us say, I want to pay it off at the end of 18 months I need to pay $5000 and not more!!

The best way to get the credit card offers is to get the utility bills (like Current bill, internet, cable) on to your name. So that will be a good reference for address verification for the credit card companies. Even apartment rental also helps. |

Venu consolidate the credit cards
Call chase(usually they give big credit limits)
and ask them for increase, lot of credit cards
increase the limit frequently, if you use ur cards
often they tend to increase to make you spend more than you need.
Best thing for new comers is to join credit unions
they give credit cards easily and usually the rate of interest is also less
I have more than 20 cards but I use only some which give me either miles or cash back. Never use cards with out any benefits and never apply for cards with annual fee unless ur desperate to have card.
American express(green) usually is approved for newbies very soon, its not a credit card , its charge card but you can use it to build your history.
Use 1-2 cards only, my personal opinion is to have auto pay or online pay so that you dont need to pay the late fees, my payments are setup to pay min atleast in time to avoid any hassels |

Usually when you come to USA, one of the first thing that bugs you is this Credit Card issue!! You need a Credit Card, as you cannot keep moving with big money in pocket!! But you won't get one till you improve your Credit History!!! But Credit History will build only once you have a Credit Card and spend on it!! Ye tokkalo cyclic problem tho mana USA life begin ayithadi!!
Ippudu manam FRIDAY roju ye CREDIT CARDS ki sambandinchi konni TIPS, ISSUES, QUESTIONS gurinchi mattadukundam!! Okay naa!!
Now naa chinna burra ki telsina konni TIPS:
TIPS:
1)USA Ragane yevaro okari(ikkada konni samvatsaralu gaa unna vallani)ni request chesi valla bank tho request chesi oka $1000 secured credit card techhukondi. From than on meeru karchu pette prathi dollar aa card paine karchu pettandi!!
2)Mee Credit rating peruguthadi and once you have this card for an year and every month you are paying it off in time, your Credit History builds!!
3)Meeru yevaranna dosthulatho untunte aa Apartment utility bills lantivi mee card use chesi pay chesthundandi!!
4)Ila Credit History build ayyaka slowly but studily meeku card offers ravatam modalauthay, and try to accept cards initially even if APR is high!!
5)Meeku credit cards chala ochhaka okosari takkuva spending limit unde cards cancel cheya buddi avuthadi, maintaining kastam kabatti, but nenu vinna prakaram Credit cards unna vatini cancel cheyatam manchidi kaadu, kottavi accept cheyaka poyina parledu!!

ISSUES:
Monna naa CHASE card lo balance $16 undindi and nenu koddi busy undi pay cheyyalsina time kanna one day late pay off chesa!! Naaku late fee gaa $15 vesadu musti yedava!!! I had to call them and request and luckily they checked my previous payment history and helped me out!!
QUESTIONS:
Naa daggara oka $25000 worth Credit Cards unnay. But problem adi kaadu, mottam 7 Cards paina intha undi!!!!! Naaku credit card offers yeppudochhina $3000 varaku osthondi tappithe $10000 ani okka sari kuda ravatle!!
My problem is, maintaining a low spending limit card is a big head ache!! Prathi nela 3 or 4 cards paina unna balance pay cheyyali ante track cheyyatam kastam gaa undi.
Is there a way, for me to get a Credit Card which is some $10,000 at a time so that I keep using this and keep the rest for emergencies?
