athivrishti leka anavrishti....this is RPs charecter...
i agree his sons charecters were etched so as to present them to viewers with a villianish tinge...but if you put their charecter traits aside and just concentrate on their problems...RP doesnt give them a convincing solution...hence he is forced to loan money to them and his conversation with kota at the end confirms it. May be it was intentional on the part of the director, may be he shares the view that raghurams charecter has a weakness...that its difficult to live in todays world with such values...
bottem line he wasnt reasonable...and he is definately some one to just admire and not immitate.
on a seperate note:
you are fortunate to have met people with raghurams charecter

I don't think the protagonist was out of this world (if you meant people like that do not exist). I've seen a few people who're very much like that. And the issues that his children present - how're they valid ?
First son - wants to become an SI thru bribes. RP says he'd be doing more harm to the society by doing so, as that'd encourage his son in a wrong way. He asks his son to look for some other job.
Second son - wants to become an engineer thru donation. RP asks him to concentrate more on his studies and achieve his goal thru merit.
Alludu - want to go to USA by offering money to some broker/bodyshopper. RP says why not get into Infosys or Wipro first, prove his merit and then move to USA (note that his Alludu doesn't have a job at all, though he calls himself software professional)
RP's character tries to make them realize their limits (eg., his second son wanting to be an engineer) and to push those limits if they want to achieve them. That itself was Raghuram's answer to his children's so-called problems. Afterall, don't we talk about 'merit' most of the time ? I'm afraid you'd be missing the logic of Raghuram's idealogy, when you say 'very valid issues of his children'.

My intention of mentioning ANAND is not to compare with aa naluguru. Both movies are 2 different backgrounds. I liked both movies very much.
AW mama annattu.. konni scenes lo inkonchem care thesikoni unte it would have been a great success for producers commercially. Kids asking for 5 lacks each (total 15 lacks) and they knew their father cannot afford that much money but wanted to misuse his name but father went against his ideology to borrow money and later dies because he couldn't stay on his principles. This episoide was little unrealistic but should appreciate the director intention of telling us how a father can do anything for his children happiness. Hats off to RP & Chnadra Siddarth.

Moviee chaalaa baagundi, very touching. One of the best movies in recent times. Ee weekend ento rendoo senti movies ye choosaanu - Sankranti and Aa naluguru. Both are good.
But this movie is very good. Rajendra Prasad ilaanti cinemaalu inkaa yenno cheyyaali. This movie is one of his best, till date. |

I watched cam print. It's excellent movie. Annad is just good movie.
Anand & AaNaluguru ki comparision ledhu.
AaNaluguru concept is good, with good moral values. Direction & RP's action are excellent. |

Alludu dhi matuku criminal brain laa soopinchedu.
The children's issues are pretty genuine and reasonable except for the daughter.
Also the children should have seen their father's financial capacity before asking their demands |

the concept was fresh but surreal. the protagonist was not of this world and ultimately went back to where he came from. his children bring forth very valid issues and raghuram has no real answer for them, which was in my mind one of the weaknesses of the movie. One or two songs are worth a mention. Aamani carried over her charecter from that jagapathi babu movie with two wives.

I watched "aa naluguru" movie this weekend.
It is a wonderful movie and RP once again proved that he is the man with skills.
RP did a wonderful job in this movie who tried to preserve moral values at the same time try to educate his family and society about his ideologies.
Everyone MUST watch this movie and you will not regreat for taking time to watch this movie.
As a movie lover we must appreciate this movie makers for making such a wonderful movie.
I hope RP gets handfull of awards for this movie.
It is another great movie this year along with ANAND.
