Sameera Uncensored If I were to marry…. I will never marry a film person. It will be a businessman. As I came from a business background. It will be someone who I can help out in this projects. If I were ever to get stranded on an island… then I hope it would be with Mel Gibson. He looks like he will be fun to be with. Most outrageous piece of gossip I heard about myself… was when some magazine wrote that I was adopted by my parents. Hottest hunk in India today… Abhishek Bachchan I hate being linked with a… Cricketer If I were not an actor, I would have been a vet. At least, I would work with animals. Especially with doggies. I love dogs. If I ever wrote a book… it would be 'How to figure out a man' .

After doing films like Musafir, which was a rage in Bollywood, what brings you to the Telugu undustry? Telugufilms were always on my priority list. I was just waiting for the right time and the right kind of film. I guess the time was right now and it's finally happening. Last year, I was offered a film each opposite Nagarjuna and Venkatesh. Bu I couldn't do them as I couldn't give bulk dates. This year, I decided it was time to take the plunge. You happen to be a Reddy girl. So was it natural to be drawn to Telugu films? Probably. My father always wanted me to do Telugu films. In fact, he is very happy now. Believe me, he was not an excited even when I made it big in Hindi. Also, like my sisters point out, I was the one who had the build to make it in Telugu. Like I am more voluptuous, so I guess I was the right one in the family (laughs). How did NTR's film happen? The director B.Gopal and the filmmaker were decided that they would cast me in the film. After Musafir, they chased me and ensured they got my dates. After I started shooting, I realized that they never had a second option. So I guess, it worked out perfectly for all of us. What's the role all about? I play a glamorous role in the film. I was told that I dance very well. And I think the makers have cashed in on that quite a bit. I love the song and dance sequences in Telugu films, so I quite enjoyed doing this one. There is also quite a bit of comedy in the film. How was it working with NTR? NTR Jr is amazing. He is a thorough professional and very hard working. Plus, he is a very good dancer. He always got his shot right in the first take, and we in Mumbai are used to a lot of reharshals. But he was really patient till I got my step right. Luckily, this experience will help me while working in Jai Chiranjeeva. Considering that you are a Mumbai girl, despite your lineage, did you have any problems lip-syncing the dialogues? Not a bit. Though we never speak in Telugu, my parents converse only in Telugu. In fact, we call my dad Reddygaru and Telugu was part of my life all along. B Gopal was very surprised when I got my first take right. I had problems with one particular dialogue where I had to say Pedda Medadu….(laughs). Since your dad's from Andhra, do you have any memories of his native place? Oh yes. Making avakaya is an annual ritual at our house in May. I have grown up eating a lot of gun powder and Pesaratlu. My dad hails from Rajahmundry and it seems I spent a good one and a half years there and even went back to Mumbai talking in Telugu. Though naturally, as I got into school and college, I got to speak only Hindi and English. Have you signed more Telugu films? And will you be doing more films down south? I am doing Jai Chiranjeeva with Chiranjeevi, the muhurat of which is happening in May. NTR's film will release in the second week o f May. Depending on the response, I will decide on the number of films I will be doing in future. Did you style yourself differently for the Telugu films? Yes. If you look at Musafir, it's what I call a slick, glam film. Then there is the chiffon saree, lots of jewels, essentially Hollywood kind of glamour. Whereas in south, the colour palette is different. Also the way you do a scene varies definitely. But I guess my Rcddy roots have come handy. You have acted In Bollywood, done a parallel film in Bengali and now you are working in south? What's next on agenda? Hindi has its own charm. It gives you world-class exposure. With Bengali films like the one I did for Buddhadeb Dasgupta, I have tried doing the intense, serious cinema and in Telugu, I love doing the song and dance sequences. I guess they are three different things. But that's the kind of work I want to do - do all kinds of cinema. As long as my character is good and I feel it's the right thing to do it at that time, I will do a film. Moving on to Bollywood, what are your forthcoming projects there? I am doing Benaam with Ajay Dcvgan, where I am doing a mass character. Then there is Sachin Bajaj's film with Vivek Oberoi. It's a comedy of sorts. So it's fun, comic role.
