Those who have seen a song sequence in Venkatesh’s new film Subash Chandra Bose were shocked and outraged to find Venkatesh dancing with the heroine wearing shirts decorated with images of Hindu Gods.
The song was shot on Venkatesh and Genelia D’souza where the ensemble troupe (dancers) also wears saffron clothes like Sadhus and dance to a romantic film song. The film is produced by Swapna Dutt on Vyjanthi movies banner and directed by veteran director K Raghavendra Rao.
In that song Venkatesh wears a shirt imprinted with Lord Ganesha.
The clothes are degrading and insulting in nature to the Hindu religion. Wearing religious clothes and using it for commercial especially for a film song is so disgusting. Why these fashion gurus and filmmakers use Hindu deities as the popular fashion fad? Don’t they have common sense and respect for the religion?
These are likely to ire the devout Hindus.
It is sad to see a star like Venkatesh who talks about Karma and the spiritual aspects of life wearing it and gyrating for a cheap filmy song.
Wearing religious clothes (like Saffron clothes) is acceptable if it is for visiting a Temple or for a pooja but is degrading if it is used for commercial gain. No devout Hindu wears Hindu Gods on clothing or uses in degrading way
The film Subash Chandra Bose is now readying for release on April 21st. The film will come to the censor board in few days. The film will face problems there. The board will take it seriously as it demeans the Hindu religion. Degrading or demeaning any religion in films is very serious offensive.
In the west too many fashion designers have tried to sell t-shirts, ‘disc blouses’ and mini-skirts and even underwear decorated with images of Hindu Gods. They got the wrath of Hindu Organizations there. In America some of the fashion houses that tried to sell for commercial gain had backtracked soon when the Hindus went to courts and had to pay huge amounts of money for demeaning the Hinduism.
We hope our director K Raghavendra Rao and producer Ashwini Dutt and hero Venkatesh come to realize this and chop it immediately.
It is so degrading to see Venky playing for a song wearing our deities on the body.
