Article 370 is a special clause in Indian Constitution, a prize that was extracted out of India in 1950 by Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah for throwing his lot with India, after lengthy negotiations with Indian leaders. Article 370 made Jammu and Kashmir a country within a country, with its own flag, emblem, constitution and Sadr-i-Riyasat (Prime Minister). The architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar, opposed granting Article 370 but it was on India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's insistence and personal guarantee that it was granted to the state.

2.Thus the state's residents lived under a separate set of laws, including those related to citizenship, ownership of property, and fundamental rights, as compared to other Indians. An interim arrangement, the Constituent Assembly, had been convened to run the state while considering the ratification of the Instrument of Accession and framing the constitution.

Religious oppression of Kashmiri Hindus (also known as Kashmiri Pandits and embodying a distinct character, culture and historic tradition), and forced conversions, had already dwindled the number of these original inhabitants of Kashmir valley to about 800,000 by 1947. After 1947, while the rest of India enjoyed the fruits of secular independence and religious equality, Kashmir valley was gradually and steadily converted into a hotbed of Islamic fundamentalism, a mini-Afghanistan. The Kashmiri Hindus, the largest minority in the valley and its original heirs, were clearly an impediment to this transformation of the valley. Every possible mean was employed by the outwardly secular National Conference to exclude Hindus from society, politics and the economy, and the primary tool used was Article 370.
Taking full advantage of Article 370, the National Conference government, first led by Sheikh Abdullah, then by others, perpetuated the archaic, exclusionary and highly discriminatory rule known as the State Subject law. In 1890, the then Maharajah had instituted a law disallowing outsiders from owning land and property in the state. This law was further strengthened in 1927. The law made sense in those days, since it was meant to prevent the colonial British from establishing their presence in the state.

ARE THEY REALLY INNOCENT
1.if they were innocnent why did an ethnic cleaning occur in kashmir
2. is it not an open fact they demonstrate for the bodies of the slain militants there treating them as martyrs.
3.what about the support they provide to the militants there (not much to the army except in jammu)
if they are really so innocent , after having all those privileges in kashmir (land and other stuff) , agreed they might have some problems too , WHY ON EARTH DO I ONLY SEE ANTI INDIA SENTIMENT .

Buddy...I am not big enough to draft a kashmir policy or suggest a road map ..we have enough people and eccentric foreign ministers to do that.... naa point enti ante ee hadaavidi lo the kashmiri is being ignored..now dont take this as areference to one community and make me out to be a peacenikking pseudo secularist. when i say the kashmiri i am referring to the man who has unwillingly become a pawn in the hands of various dangerous parties..and this includes the kashmiri pandit. and this stereotype of every kashmiri being a terrorist..are we fighting such a hard battle for a state where evry citizen is a terrorist??

IBM - often media ppl are not exactly what they look to us. there's a lot of background work that goes on and ppl like BD are just the faces that we see. by the same token, you would say christiane amanpour is also very good. we all know how good she is.
the person that flew her had the 'pleasure' of talking to her and knowing what she really is. she lapped on the chance of becoming famous dfuring kargil and built on it later during her kashmir special shows but vide this: she asks a soldier in a bunker 'is life difficult at these temperatures ?'. what crap !! I dont grudge her fame or anything at all, why prannoy roy gets my goat often times too not because they are anti-national or anything but simply cuz they are dumb but unfortunately have a large % of the country as their audience. that also makes their uneducated views dangerous.
do you actually mean to say that she knew better than ABV ? did not that lahore trip give India enough moral leverage to beat the pakis into submission ? I do know her stance during the Agra summit but I for sure barfed at the way Shekhar 'Omlette' gupta was shagging all over the place talking to Musharraf.

what was so dumb about the ladys Kargil reporting.
yes there were other reporters as well but bd was the face of the media during the period. everybody tuned to star news during that period. how many of us watched zee,etc for news on kargil??
bd is known not merely for her kargil reporting but for her entire kashmir coverage. for long kashmir was a ' black and white' issue . an evil neighbour coveting our territory... this was the kashmir issue for us. Itwas BDs coverage that showed this was a much more complicated issue ...the paki angle, the hurriyat, the indigineous kashmiri groups, groups comprising of foreign mercenaries, the al qaeda link, the ladakhi angle, the pandits...etc..man..it was BDs reality bites and not any other indian channel/journo that took us right into the action and revealed the multi dimensional shit that the valley is in..
sarang, i dont know if she ever openly supported extremists but yes there is a strong undercurrent of 'the interests of the kashmiris are paramount...their voice need to be heard' .. does this make her anti-national??during agra, the woman was crying hoarse that it is more important to talk to the man in kashmir than to pakistan. her point that abv should have made a bus trip to srinagar and not lahore , makes us believe that she is a voice of the kashmiri..deenni manam anti-national ga bhavinchadam is not right.

no jingoism but lot of well thought out dialogue still conveying what every Indian feels. the IMA scenes were very good, dare I say quite realistic but I thought they missed out on the ragging scenes, could have provided more fun but also become distracting. Preity zinta was a pain, looked worn out. was Barkha Dutt the ONLY reporter during the Kargil thing ? Amitabh was wasted I think and the background music by SEL was awesome |

Here we go, brief lakshya review:
motham 5 mandimi vellam. naaku thappa evariki nachale. ( naaku abhay kooda nachindi, warning sakes ) HR chimpesadu, direction baundi. climax lo rock climbing was well done kaani okka long shot kosam try chesi SFX ani choopesthadu, so dobbs. general ga as expected from Farhan, a very different way of taking. HR gaadu mathram dance simpude bossu. Prabhu deva level lo chesadu almost.
actually, lot of burning issues between india and pak were very cleverly and subtly put in the script. Lt. saurabh kalia ni entha darunanga champaro paki nayallu, oka line lo include chesadu. 'inke bas me hotha tho chaand ko bhi baant lethe' antadu oka chota. sounds like a generic peacenik stmnt but I am sure Javed akhthat put it there to comment about Jinnah and the muslim league. asalu ee cinema india lo choodali, kathi lanti dialogues konnaithe. paki gadu sushant singh tho antadu ' tho musalman ho' ani - manodi 'TERE LIYE, Hnidustani hun' antaadu. asalu the whole Indian muslim fraternity's pain is captured in that ONE sentence. hats off to Javed akthar. inka nannu kadilchinavi chala unnai le. |

yup chalam garu , ilanti sensitive characterization vaste where the focus is there on the issues but not lost in the shouts and cries(i did like gadar sort of for some paki bashing) but lakshya lanti movies better.
hrithik is a star to reckon with , seriously want to see the khans dislodged from their glycerine thrones.
asalu ima dehradun scenes chala baga vacchayi , how he grows as a boy to man annadi.

lakshya is a pretty good movie , ilantivi inka vaste baguntundi, sensitively taken.

preity zinta character is similar to barkha dutt , who should be really classified as anti national.

velli aa terrorist families ki sanubhooti ga shows chesindi interviews and critcized the armed forces.
anywaz good movie , hrithik rocks .
much better than the dumb mai hoon na by shah rukh , then after all what can you expect from him.

overall a very decent movie. I guess we should watch such movies atleast once in the theatre just so that the film makers dont get disheartened.
Hrithik and the akhthar duo are the stars.
IBM - Barkha dutt surely was in the bunkers during kargil but she's no icon and all that. as dumb a bi**h as u can get. and this, I got from one of the force men that flew her from those sensitive places. |

HRITIK never disappointed me with his acting and I feel in this movie he was at his best!! I want to watch this movie again as last week I had to watch it sitting in the 1st row!!
It's no big drama and all the scenes are natural as both OT and Ram_Khushi said!!
Even I too liked the IMA, DEHRADUN scenes!! I would say this is one movie where AMITABH is over shadowed by an actor and that actor is non other than HRITIK!!

nijam cheppali ante the highlight scene were lot but i liked these..
1) when he calls up preethi and says tum jana chathti ho na ki mera zindagi ka lakhsya kya hai.. toh woh hai mera lakhsy woh.. anni cheppi tiger hills vaipu index finger tho pint chesthadu choodandi.. There were claps for this scene in the theatre in sangeet.. fully northindian crowd..
2) The conversation with his father it was so heart touching that tears rolled down my eyes after seeing that scene...
3) The scene where in the canteen where the officer shouts against preethi zinta...
4) Sushant singh dialgoue with the pakistani officer
all in all the great climax and the great background score by the music directors in the climax.

This has really happened in the past and the TV reporter was not directly at the war front she was in the village which was occupied by the army and there was an attack through shells on the village and soldiers had taken the tv reporters inside the bunkers.
The above is directly taken from the incident during kargil war and the press reporter was Barkha dutt. She interviewed army personnel from the bunker which was telecast live on start news.
For me this is the best picture i have seen for a long long time.... Hrithik roshan can do everything he is the real superstar of india after amitabh bacchan, he only lacks the voice of amitabh thats all.
He can Dance ( One of the best) , can do omedy, can do emotional scenes with great elan. Also can be romantic..
Sangeet lo saturday second showw choosa.. really want to watch it again..

i saw LAKSHYA yesterday.
This is the better version amongst war/kargil backdrop movies.
Earlier i didn't like even BORDER except 2 songs and the theme..they tried to generate artificial patriotism . At that time whole INDIA was running high on ANTI-PAk emotions and border/Gaddar became good hits.
coming to recent L.O.C , i hated it ..worst movie. I didn't understand what JPDUTTA sir want to convey with LOC.
But Lakshya is class apart from all war movies.
Its center point is not Kargil war. just back drop is kargil war..
its all about HOW an ambitionless young guy tranformed into a good ARMY Caption..
Director Farhan akhtar handled very well. All the scenes and story flow seems reliable or nearer to reality to the viewers.
The lovetrack of preity and hrithik also a practical one unlike other bullshit love tracks.
Negative points :
1. Preity zinta hair style and she looked fat (esp whenever camera was focussed from rear side of her) she looked little bit aged.
2. Amitab have nothing to perform.
3. 2nd half dragged a lot at times.
4. TV reporter(that too female) roaming directly with soldiers in war front is unrealstic
positive points:
1.Hrithik,Hrithik,Hrithik,Hrithik,Hrithik,Hrithik. .
2. Dancing skills and performance of hrithik and his original efforts to perform the role of Lieutenant
3. scenes picturised at Indian Military Academy ,Dehradun.
4. Instead of trying to explain whole kargil war and fail(L.O.C failed here) , director kept it simple by taking one PAKI BUNKER capturing as LAKSHYA.
P.S : don't expect patriotic formula based hair raising or nerve chilling emotional scenes .as i said earlier director didn't try that artificiality.thats why i liked this movie.

I have seen the whole movie, but in parts not continously. Either way, I was not convinced with the talent vis-a-vis hype. He is definitely a good actor as Aman in FIza, and as Irfan in Mission Kashmir when compared to his other family-oriented tear jerkers.
But since Lakshya is a different story, I am willing to accpet this talnet only after watching the movie. I will keep you informed via this DB or e-mail whether there is a change in my understanding of Hrithik.

The compelling staements by Venu Mama, are definitely making me watch this movie. I have never thought of Hrithik as an actor, but most of it had to do with roles as well.
I am still not convinced, despite the euphimism showered by Venu SOdara.. . Let us see if I would stand corrected.

I watched LAKSHYA this Saturday!! I could not get tickets for Friday night 10PM show, So had to go at 6PM to get 10PM show tickets on saturday!!
As I reached theatre at 10PM sharp(as if I am the busiest person on Earth), I had to watch the movie by sitting in the 1st row for the 1st time in my life!! I felt like the screen was totally on my face and had to move my head from side to side to see the toal screen!!
I would have left in 10 minutes unable to bear the pain of watching that way, but the movie did not allow me to do that!! It was a very good movie that can be watched by one and all!!
After watching HRITIK in the Super Hit 1st movie few said it was a FLUKE!! Than came series of FLOPS to confirm their beliefs!! Than came KHABHI KHUSHI KHABHI GHAM, which gave more credit to SHAHRUKH, KAJOL, AMITABH and again HRITIK was side lined!! Than came another Super Hit KOI MIL GAYA and even though many gave credit to HRITIK few said it again was the magic of his father and uncle to bail him out!!
Now came LAKSHYA!!!!!! It's a good HIT for sure!! Will these same guys give to credit to either AMITABH or OM PURI or PREETI JINTA instead of HRITIK??????? A BIG NO!! Because in the movie, the performances of all those are of minimal effect and the movie was totally HRITIK ROSHAN'S!!!
It was a real meaningful movie with a great performance of gifted HRITIK ROSHAN!! This movie can be rated one of the best in recent times!! Such a role cannot be donned by any other hero in recent times(may be 10 years back SUNNY DEOL might have been able to do it)!!
Go for it guys, a must see movie!!
