Guys,
my company attorney pampinchana mail

This is to advise that the State Department has announced the end of the visa revalidation process through the Department of State. This has been a very useful service for a number of years for individuals who held "H", "L" or "E" status. For "security reasons", the State Department will no longer provide this service. This means that all visas will have to be obtained at a U.S. embassy or consul outside of the U.S. Further, a great deal of planning will have to go into travel outside the U.S. where an individual's visa has expired. Many consuls are taking several weeks or even longer to process visa applications. A visa application now includes the submission of a number of documents, biometric processing, and finally an interview. Foreign nationals on nonimmigrant visas should be aware that this can be a lengthy process and should not assume that it can be completed within a few days as it has in the past.

This will likely increase the volume of applicants at U.S. consuls in Canada or Mexico. We recommend that applications to the border countries be carefully monitored to make sure, to the extent possible, that the visa is issued. Under recent changes, if the visa is not issued at a consul in a border country, the individual is in most instances unable to return to the U.S. and will then have to go directly back to the individual's home country to apply for the visa.
