Talking about how expensive might be just part of our culture and I don't think people think too much about cinema tkt.
I went for this KKKB on the first or second day. It was house full. In the intervel we came out and for our surprise there are samosa and other snaks. That guy must have thought that he will sold out for two shows but everything is gone in few minutes. Our people enjoy that, eating samosa and watching film together. |

TI mama this is true.. I have visited Niagara falls 6 times. Maa collegue american just went once.
I went to canada 3 times and one more collegue didnt even go to canada even once..
Spending/enjoyment is subjective that is 100% true. Sam mama I agree to you that our way of enjoying life is different to others.
Kaani My point here is we should not crib for what we spend mama.. maa office lo okadu Indian unnadu vaadu DVD rent chesadanuko. Abbo $2 kharchu ayyipoyayi antaru. Atlage enjoy chese prati roopayiki he will be cribbing. I am talking of those type mama.. Kharchu pettande enjoyment etla vastundi ????
Everyone has his/her priorities. Not spending definetely doesnt mean that one is not enjoying. Everyone has their own ways of enjoyment.
We talk of having 3/7 tea in India and chatting in a irani chai shop, thats a great enjoyment mama.. We feel that there is more enjoyment in that than watching a movie or going to some place and spending money. |

They do.. if the movies are played in Doller theatres and charge 10$.. |

Why should we compare ourselfs with Americans? We are never americans. Our way of enoyment always differ. Calling a friend in India and talking 30 minutes is enjoyment. We do that with lot of excitement. Again we might looks for better phone card, that is only because we can talk for longer thats it. We intend to spend but want to get most out of it.
Asking for value of the buck shouldn't be criticised |

Sam mama what I feel the guy is complaining is that if you want enjoyment spend it..
If you dont spend you dont get enjoyment. You want to watch a movie and at the same time crib that the ticket price is too high. This is what I think he is criticizing about..

That poster is thinking "Spending money is enjoying life". I think that is wrong.
For any Indians aka desi's the primary goal to come to USA is to earn money and go back enjoy with family/friends/relatives. If you keep spending money you will never see the day you want to see. Many of us came here leaving old parents, lovings brothers/sisters and lot of debts on your education, travel arrangements to USA etc. For many that keeps reeling in mind and can't spend money. I know a guy who stayed here for 2 yrs and went back to India with Rs. 1Cr. If he would have enjoyed here, he would have been still here trying to reach the goal.
So the mode of enjoyment change from person to person. |

This is a valid point mama... House richness potundi.. One of my friend bought a house for $350K but he is using sofas that he bought 7 years ago which are looking very odd for the new house. The point he says is he bought house so he doesnt want to invest on sofas..
But Enjoyment is a different story all togather. Its purely subjective. Spending and going around places is not just enjoyment.
But spending the money right way without cribbing is what matters |
