Literally i was in your shoes about a couple of years ago.
If you want to take it easy its fine, but its a bigger thing than you think. Knowing what others doing will give a competitive edge to people and its not curiosity that propels this kind of activity.
I assume you could change your password( 1st choice) thats the only solution and put a word to your lead as a casual mention that you think he reads others emails by obtaining some passwords(do it only if you are sure.) |

yup... good idea HM... Also this affects whole client relation if the reporting manager is tough guy. We indian companies should be careful since it affects comp image for such bad practices. |

I already did that. I am not sure there are other ways of accessing...
2)Don't give your official ID to friends and family members and if already given ask them to mail to your other ID but not office ID.
There is no way that friends dont know my official id. Because email address has userid@-----.com
3)Dustulani dooram ga petta mannaru peddalu, so athani tho private vishayalu(ante family issues and other non work issues) mattadakunda athani tho anti mutta nattu undu.
I already started doing that. No more discussions with him ani decide ayyaa...
4)Ignore him as much as possible(but don't spoil the work relationship).
This is what I need to work on...I dont want work place to be spoiled as we spend 8 hrs togather. And at the same time knowing what he did it is very difficult... |

mee N&S Admin ni adugu mama who is maintaining that. But for that u need to open a help desk ticket if u dont have sources. All US companies keep the Exchange servers isolated and we dont know admins. They reveal these things only for official Audit and requests.
(In my case I know all of them and i can get that done in our orgn)
If you want to take this issue and go with it.. it will hamper ur client relation since.. this is kind of audit and verification. It comes under security breaches and blah blah... Your colleague job will be at stake and which indirectly affects ur whole project image and future prospects...
The best thing as a layman I see is: go and discuss with both of u guys imm. manager whom u feel confident and able to resolve. otherwise.. u just sulk in and face this AS IS. so htink about it. |

It stores each and everything mama. Infact MS Exchange server authentication log have the time stamp of the Login. check that... i am damn sure about it.. |

He did that out of intension so he wouldn't tell you the truth anyway. But with you indirectly told him that you suspect him. So it is clear.
If you think he knew lot of your personal info and more then be very careful with that guy and also mention him that you are contacting admin people about this. Just scare him out to the possible extent. |

Sam mama I already am careful about my mails/folders and told him that somebody is accessing my mails so I am changing the password.
I told him that while I was accessing the mails from home today morning while he was in office ( I came late today ) I got an error message that " I am already logged from other machine" ( I bluffed ).
He told that he also came late today... |

Send a request to N&S Admin requesting MS Exchange Server log of which IPs accessed this particular account. Do it once.. u will come to know..

one solution is to have a separate mail address for your personal stuff and use office mail for only business purposes... |

I have a collegue of same company in my work place. We work at client site. I am having doubt that the person is secretely reading my office mails which has personal mails too..
Basically we can access our mails through web. All one needs to know is user name which everyone knows ( same as email id ) and a password. I am not sure whether I shared to him or not.
This was confirmed when he told me by mistake an information that only I know. Nobody knows about that. I immediately changed the password.
After that what should I do now???
Knowing he read all my mails I dont know how to react to him. I am not sure since how long the person is doing this. I dont have any proof that he is doing this except that the information he spit out by mistake.
There was one more incident where I sent a document another person was seen on his machine He suddenly killed MS word once I went to see him. The other person didnt send this document to him.. |
