In the disguise of patriotic and semi-periodic film, veteran director K Raghavendra Rao dishes out totally farce film.

Subash Chandra Bose is big bore from start to finish. Everything in this film – right from the story, hero’s characterization, cheap dialogues and screenplay (inane) and direction, is lamentable. The film’s story itself is so absurd.

Illogical scenes, unscientific things, history-defying facts are abound in the film. Actually, in many instances you get laugh seeing the filmmaker’s lack of knowledge about even the simple things like look of Indian national flag.
Faded writer Satyanand who has been giving duds after duds has written the film's story. He seems to have inspired by Subhash Ghai’s Karz (1980). He has just added patriotic angle.

Just read the story and you’ll understand how bad the film is.
The film starts off with a Poramboku gang - Ashok (Venkatesh) and his friends getting a job in a TV channel.

Along with his girl friend Anita (Genelia), Ashok covers the meeting of a politician (Prakash Raj). Seeing Prakash Raj there, Ashok gets images from the bygone era. He keeps remembering the Chintapalli village (a fictitious village near Vizag). In the sudden flash back, it is revealed that in the year 1946, a man named Subash Chandra Bose alias Chandram (Venkatesh) fights against local British officer (Gulshan Grover). Flash back starts.
Subash Chandra Bose believes in non-violence and hero worships the real freedom fighter Subash Chandra Bose. When the state governor (Tom Alter) comes to Chintapalli along with his daughter Diana for a brief vacation, Subash Chandra Bose gives him welcome by blasting a water tank in his palace. Enraged Governor asks his officer to kill Bose. Taking help from Bandodu (Prakash Raj), the British officers kill the entire village men and woman including Bose’s lover (Shriya). Bose is also killed by Bandodu in the end. Flash back ends.
Here now it is now revealed that Ashok is none other than reincarnation (punarjanma) of Subash Chandra Bose. So our Ashok sets to expose the Bandodu turn politician and in the end killing him.
This is the film’s story. How absurd it is to hear? Then imagine how foolishly and inanely shot!

This is K Raghavendra Rao’s 101st film. A director who made 100 films dishing out such a lethargic product is inexcusable. What the director and producer (K Ashwinidutt’s daughter Swapna Dutt) wanted to convey through this film?
In the disguise of patriotic and semi-periodic film, veteran director K Raghavendra Rao dishes out totally farce film.
Patriotic films succeed only when the story is inspiring but Subhash Chandra Bose is neither patriotic film nor periodic film, it is lousy attempt by K RR and Venkatesh.

Analysis
While the film’s first half itself is lengthy and mediocre, the post interval scenes are unbearable. The film’s climax is a like big joke.

Hero Venkatesh looks awful in both the roles.
Paata comedian Maada cinema choosuko poyyi.Vaadeneeku nachutaadu..
His getup of Subash Chandra Bose reminds you of his Jayam Manade Re and he looks old in this film. He should stop doing these kind of getups and roles to keep his career on right track.

Of all the cast, it is Gulshan Grover and Tom Alter as the British officers have done good job.

Shriya is sexy and her gestures in the songs are very sensuous. Genelia has gone for overboard performance. And all others who acted in this film are not much to do.
Of all the technical departments, it is artwork department that excelled in the film. The British Palace set done by Ashok is splendid work. Also the artwork done for the song, Neredu Pallu Kallu, is beautiful.
Manisharma’s music is average. But Neredu Pallu Kallu and Jajiri Jajiri songs are good to watch. Cinematography is standard. On the whole it is avoidable fare.
JP’s Verdict: It would be biggest dud this year. Stay avoid from the film.
