It was Rs 8.5 Crores deficit that made ruckus today. Producer Chengala Venkat Rao said to have claimed that Narasinhudu has incurred huge production cost tune to the Rs 20 Crores. He called on hero NTR and director B Gopal yesterday and told them that he is in deficit of Rs 8.5 Crores and has to pay around 4 Crores to the Labs. Then hero NTR came forward to offer Rs 1.5 Crores from remuneration to bail him. So did B Gopal with Rs 50 lakhs. Then hero NTR called on Suresh Babu of Ramanaidu Labs and financiers. Suresh Babu on behalf of his lab is said to have given relaxation of Rs 50 lakhs and financiers too come forward to give relaxation to Rs One Crores. Suddenly, last night when the film’s prints were about to reach to the hands of distributors producer Chengala Venkat Rao had backed off in the last minute saying he’d release the film on May 28th instead of May 20th. Then film’s financiers and buyers sensed fishy in the matter and pressurized him to tell the truth last night (May 19, 2005). Early in the mornings, some buyers went to Chengala’s office and reportedly damaged his office furniture and then went to Labs there they had created a ruckus. For almost 12 hours there prevailed pandemonium at Labs. Mean while several rumors floated. At noon, Suresh Babu, K L Narayana, Sukumar (associate of NTR), Chengala went to S Gopala Reddy’s guesthouse and discussed the matter for 3 hours and came to an agreement. Though it is not revealed what the agreement was but the fans were relieved to see the film screening in theatres at least in Twin cities in the evening. Chengala’s business Chengala is sold the rights of the film to four areas – Nizam to Mahalaxmi Movies, West Godavari to Santosham film distributor, Nellore to Kavali Venkateshwara Rao and Krishna to Kodali films. He kept ceded rights and planned to release on his own. Till, he was in deficit of Rs 4 Crores to pay the Labs and financiers. |
