For the first time, hero Nagarjuna spoke about his latest film Super at length. He met the press on Saturday evening at Annapoorna Studios. He was in relaxed and confident mood. "Super has shaped out in super way. So I am very relaxed now," he told the media.
Super is the latest production from reputed banner Annapoorna Studios on which Nag produces it. Poori Jagannath directs it. The unit has just come from a Mauritius stint, where few songs were shot on Nagarjuna and Ansushka Shetty. Ayesha Takia too is playing the female lead in the film.
Music and action are the strengths
Nagarjuna said the film's extraordinary musical score by Sandeep Chowtha and amazing stunt sequences are the film's major strengths. “Sandeep has done amazing job. I had brought in Sandeep from Bollywood especially for this film because the film needs new kind of music. Sandeep is one music director who gives melodious tunes even while keeping all that trendy beats and rhythms,” Nag said about the music.
Techies from Australia
“Apart from music, action sequences would be highlight points of the film other than anything else. When I say action sequences, it does not mean that ‘gory scenes like slashing heads’, what we attempted in this film are bike chases, which are risky. We used 1000CC motorbikes (One Honda and the other Yamaha R1) for this film and we also brought in technicians from Australia . The techies have worked for Hollywood flicks like Matrix,” Nagarjuna elaborated.
Not copy of Dhoom
When asked whether he was inspired from Bollywood super hit, Dhoom, he said no. “The only thing that I taken from the Dhoom was that the idea behind the film that even bike chase sequences can be shot here in India too. I have been very fascinated about bike racers. I didn’t know that such technical equipment exists in India to shoot such films until I saw Dhoom. That’s it. I am not fool remake or copy Dhoom,” Nagarjuna clarified.
Nag, Anushka, Poori at Mauritius
Rs 10 Crs for production
When asked about the film’s budget, Nagarjuna said it would be unfair to reveal the budget. But called on executive producer Chalasani Ramesh to enquire about the production costs. “It is around Rs 10 Crores for the entire film excluding Nag’s remuneration,” Ramesh told the media.
Mumbai, Goa, Mauritius..
Major part of the film was shot in Mumbai and Goa. “As the technical equipment was available in Mumbai only, we shot major part of action sequences in Mumbai and Goa. And luckily we shot few scenes on an underproduction sea bridge in Mumbai. The bridge is currently being built yet we got the permission to shoot there. And some scenes and songs were shot in Goa and Mauritius. Rest of the film is being shot in Hyderabad.” Nagarjuna said.
Releasing June end
The film’s music is to be launched on May 29 through Maruthi music. “I have not yet decided the date and venue of the music’s launch. I will let you know the full details in a day or two,” Nag went on, adding, “we are planning to release the film after June 3rd week.” |
