No one prepared you for the blow of losing connection with another human being. Whether you decided to end the relationship or it was ended for you, separation is devastating. And that's what Uday Kiran went through. "I was on a personal and a professional high. I fell in love, had two films running in 23 theatres and I was proudly taking my girl around town showing the posters, what more could I have asked for? She was a journalist and I was serious about her. Now she is happily married and I am happy for her," says Uday Kiran, reclining and recovering from a small surgery at his tastefully done home at Jubilee Hills.
His growth had been and people touted him as the next big star. Just when he was getting comfy, everything went awry.
The big banners disappeared, his personal life was in shambles, films didn't do too well and the press took him apart. Ask him how he dealt with the bad patch and he says, "I found my strength in God. He was the one who pulled me out of this crisis. All those close friends and people whom I trusted betrayed me. Now I am starting all over again, from the scratch, and I know I'll make it. I have Him up there supporting me and backing me thoroughly."
Ask him about those rumours of two timing and Uday denies vehemently.
"When Holi wasn't doing well and I was in a bleak phase, Chiranjeevi garu lifted my spirits. I developed a special bond with him. When I broke off from my earlier relationship, he was aware of it. I was depressed around that time and when the proposal came from their side, I left the decision to my parents. I was not in a position to handle anything.. Much before and even after the engagement, we (Sushmita and himself) never got to meet in person. We did speak over the phone, shared a lot of thoughts and we realised it's not happening. The best thing to do was to call it off rather than jeopardise the future. All these things happen in every family, the only difference here is I have been made the villain ."
