CKR - implicated in the murder of his family members (wife is alive). comes out and tries to kill villians. Son is cop and tries to stop him.
Now tell me which story is more similar. KV is xerox of SP. CKR is adopted from both.

I narrated a story to him and he hugged me after listening to it. He asked me to start the film. The only mistake I did was taking Muthyala Subbaiah as the director. The subject I narrated was a mass story with great amount of action and had a title of 'Narasimha Naidu'. Balayya's character was a very short-tempered one in the movie(like 'Tana kopame tana satruvu'). The film would have become a blockbuster if the original story was retained. But the director played around with the story and changed it entirely. They changed the title to 'Krishna Babu'. Muthyala Subbaiah created jail scenes and sent hero to jail thrice. In the original story, that jail incident was not there. B Gopal was the correct director for that film. Muthyala Subbaiah, being a soft director changed the entire story texture. After the release of that film, people commented it as 'Kastala Babu' and 'Jail Babu'. When I narrated the initial story everybody liked it. But I don't understand why they changed the story line and the producer does not have say in it. The film turned out to be a disappointment

remember saying krishna babu is a remake BUT NOT DEVUDU. aa cinema nenu choodaledu kooda so there is no question of my comments on that. infact i argued that SS is a remake of star. aa story link kooda nenu pettenu for Ot and seena.
napolean chesina oka cinema lo atani kallalo kaaram kodataru villains and he accidentally kills his wife and he goes to jail. nenu ee cinema choosindi 15-20 mins matrame at a friend's place last year.

once (i guess a couple of months back) you posted in IBDB that dEvuDu and kRshNabAbu were remakes but when I asked you about the names of the tamil originals, there was no response. let me search napolean's movies and see if there is something that is similar to kRshNa bAbu. but SrInivAsA arts banner claims to be the story writers of the movie (as far as I remember).

WHY, WHY, WHY & WHY? I never expected this, and I just can't understand how it's becoming like this! Can anyone tell just why our "big heroes" who can "dare" to do any impossible thing in reel life cannot even dare to do a film with a new script, an original one, just a script which is born in Andhra Pradesh?! Oh, I am a little confused how our lion-hearted heros have become copy "cats". Have a glance at recent movies:
1. Chiranjeevi: Tagore (from ramaNa in Tamil); Shankar daadaa MBBS (from Munnabhai MBBS in Hindi)
2. Balakrishna: Lakshmi Narasimha (from saami in Tamil)
3. Venkatesh: Been doing mostly remakes, till the recent one based on kaakka kaakka (Tamil).
Everyone have forgetten about the storywriters of our industry who had given very good stories; I do remember some of them have been exported to other languages too!
It may have not been a problem if it were in the past, but at present it is really a big issue. Just think, nowadays most of the college-going students, who are apparently the major sections of audience, will be knowing about acclaimed movies of other languages, and so there is no point of curiosity about the story of the remade movie or about the movie itself as such!
They may not come even once to the theatres, if they have not liked the other language version! Once a big hero decides to do a film which has collected lots of money in another state/language, most of his fans will watch the original whenever possible, by some means. They will thus conclude in their own manner whether the film will be a hit or flop in Telugu, and they publicize their opinion - good or bad!
For a original movie, these audience come to the theater and watch it, and get their families along. Remakes can, well, be watched (in the original language) "at home" with their families and/or friends.
Thus a remake will lose a big segment audience even before it gets on to sets!! Particularly, movies sometimes lose repeat audience even for big heroes.
What, then, might drive the heroes towards remakes? Money and profits? If one observes the past, remakes have not generally reached the grossing of original films and not all remakes were hits! Moreover, most remakes are generally heavy duds at box-office!
So, what do we have finally, from these remakes?
* the original film may be conceived to be a bigger hit because curious segments of Telugu Cinema audience will watch them.
* Moviemakers and artistes of other states get all the money and the cost of our storywriters being neglected.
* Artistes who have acted in the original fim will get good recognition in Telugu film industry too! (Import, import!!)
* Telugu students/families who stay in other states and in borders of other states must wait for a long period to watch the original Telugu film, because they're not generally released in places in as many centers as straight movies, as most of those people there would have seen the original version of the film.
