Bala Krishna Interview: Fans will love my next film http://www.greatandhra.com/movies/interviews/balu_ interview.html Balakrishna says fans will love his as yet-untitled forthcoming release. Describing the film by P.B. Arts as unique, Balakrishna said: "My fans will just love it". Though Vijayendra Varma, his last release, has not fared well, the actor said he had enjoyed portraying a patriot in the film and was not disappointed with the box office results. Balakrishna said he was updating himself and trying to change his acting style. Balakrishna said he has been updating himself and trying to change his acting style. Q: What is your role like in the next release? A: Though I don't want to reveal the storyline yet, it is one of the different films in my career. Director Jayanth has handled it well and both Katrina Kaif and Charmi have significant roles. My fans will just love it. Q: Are you again playing a vengeful man in the film? A: We wanted to avoid this in this film since it is not a revenge drama. Even the audience seems to have tired of watching revenge dramas and is looking out for something interesting. I don't rule out doing revenge dramas but I would like some freshness if I come across such a script. The audience has liked me in films of varied genres, including love stories, family dramas, comedies and tragedies. I never craved for a particular image. As an actor, I am still ambitious and want writers and directors to change their mindset and approach me with challenging roles. I am game for it. Q: It has been a long time since you did a family drama like Peddanayya or Bobbili Simham. How do you choose your scripts? A: I have my own ideas about a good script. When I listen to a story, I approve if it matches my thinking. I feel I have gained enough knowledge about varied scripts by watching Hollywood movies, reading books and by watching my dad's films. For instance, we rehashed a Hollywood film for Peddanayya and it worked. Q: You should have been disappointed with the poor showing of Vijayendra Varma. Do you do a lot of homework to portray your roles? A: I never get disappointed with flops in my career since I always believed in the adage: perform your duty and leave the rest to destiny. We felt a patriotic film like Vijayendra Varma could be a winner, but the audience thought otherwise. But I will strive hard to attempt something different to satisfy the actor in me, unmindful of a film's box-office fate. I don't do any specific homework: I just try to understand the character better and to portray it according to the director's vision. Q: With Athanokkade, another star - Kalyan Ram (N.T.Rama Rao's grandson) - has arrived from your Nandamuri family. Do you intend to join politics now (like former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N.T. Rama Rao)? A: I am happy since he took a gamble and it worked for him. I told him that getting instant stardom was easy but to maintain it would be an arduous task. Taking risks has been the trait of our family and he needs to be very selective. I don't have any intention to join politics. But, if that is my destiny, it is bound to happen |
