It is early days, but Mahesh Babu’s much hyped action film Athadu has been declared a hit by the trade.
But how big a hit it will be, will only be known in the coming days. The film has taken a bumper opening especially in Nizam and coastal Andhra which reported 100 percent collections.
In Tandipatni in Ananthapur district, a young fan of Mahesh Babu died in a stampede on the opening day. Though the film is just average the fans seem to be liking the action scenes choreographed by Peter Haynes especially the fight with a comic touch.
The on-screen chemistry between Mahesh and Trisha is also being appreciated and the scene when he tells her that she is not beautiful brings the house down.
In Chennai city on the release day August 10, a working day the film grossed Rs 4,26,540 from three screens and 10 shows, a new opening day record for Telugu film! |
