'Athadu' delivers!!! - 12.08.2005
Mahesh Babu was looking desperately for a hit film and it looks like Mahesh Babu has got what he was looking for- a hit.
On the first day, the film opened with 100 % collections. It has created a record of sorts with its performance in Chennai. This is the highest for the time being for any Telugu film's opening day in the city. In another few days, when the hype dies down, the film will face its real test. But, 'Athadu' looks unstoppable for the time being.

It is early days, but Mahesh Babu’s much hyped action film Athadu has been declared a hit by the trade. But how big a hit it will be, will only be known in the coming days. The film has taken a bumper opening especially in Nizam and coastal Andhra which reported 100 percent collections. In Tandipatni in Ananthapur district, a young fan of Mahesh Babu died in a stampede on the opening day. In Chennai city on the release day August 10, a working day the film grossed Rs 4,26,540 from three screens and 10 shows, a new opening day record for Telugu film!

It has been a happening week for Mahesh Babu.
The biggest one has of course been the popular release of his much-delayed Athadu.Though the reports have been encouraging and he has reason to feel elated, the bitter news for him came in the form of the death of one of his fans in a stampede. He died while trying to purchase a ticket to watch his idol's latest flick.

Mahesh Babu’s Atadu has unforeseen collections in USA, according to the distributors of the film. In a press release, the US distributors, Crown, said that they were on cloud nine with the overwhelmed response received for Atadu in US.
We have released in four cities (San Jose, Dallas, New Jersey, Maryland) so far. Around 2000 people have enjoyed the movie. It is biggest ever opening weekend for Mahesh Babu in US.

Mahesh Babu's latest film ATHADU is having a dream run in entire USA. It is observed that lot of people had to return as they failed to obtain the tickets in Detroit,San Jose and Virginia and to accomadate heavy crowds in New Jersey we had to interlock theaters for 7 and 10PM shows. If this continues, this will become biggest grosser among Mahesh Babu's films in USA. We thank all the US patrons who watched the movie and we hope everyone enjoyed the movie. |
