watch this movie after one year with out review in your mind you will love the movie.
Ekambaram mama cheppinattu dont forget "Athudu" is a movie.. And till date no such movie is made which doesnt have any flaws.

1. Why the Boy kills the Goonda in the first place?
He has some history with that guy. That is not shown as it is not very important. Director choose to leave this minor detail to viewer's imagination. Why do you expect a movie to answer all questions? Then it will become documentary.
2. Why no one in the family is being questioned Mahesh when he beats up all the goons of Tanikella. Where was the Police and His grand pa?
Why they have to question. He just beat them. As Najar later explains, he didn't question as he believed in him.

This is bullshit question. Is there any rule where professional killers hide where and shouldn't hide? And we expect them to obey those rules? First get your facts right. He don't choose Church, he came to know that opponent is hiding there, so he went there to settle score. Btw, for a killer, how does it matter if it a holy place or not?

This is some what valid point. But there is an explanation too. Prakash raj can't prove old killings. Then he actually didn't kill any body in the case PR is looking for. On top of all, he actually a changed person and PR gave him a chance to live normal after knowing that he is really changed and also as a token for nabbing the real killers. Also this is a Telugu movie ending, and what else do you expect? |

if u see the movie, rajeev kanakala comes back as he saw the poster in some place and realized they were still searching for hism even after 12 years, i mean every year they are printing the same poster and posting again in hope of finding the boy.
5. Why he chose Church to kill his friend? Don’t he have some kind of respect for places of worship?
When Narsimha Naidu can kill in temple campus, nothing much different if in church. |

The movie starts off on a simple note a boy killing a local Goonda, running away from the scene, settling up with another Goonda and helping him in a Bank robbery and become hero in saving his Malik. Out of all these incidents "Athadu" is born… titles are rolled up along with Athadu title song. PERIOD.
The story revolves around the Hero taking up an assignment to kill a politician, the mission failure, how Hero escapes from the scene, getting into *new* character with an extraordinary twist, living in the new character in all together a different world with lots of fun and frolic by a mischievous girl playing the lead role, police running after him, the drama of the police in their investigation, back home adventures by the new character with old friends, people in the locality, flashbacks and loads of romance by the lead pair and *so called comedy* and what not. Overall mix of many strands to make a thread called "Athadu" a plot with lots of unanswered questions in its completeness. The formula worked well since no one bothered about the completeness, everyone looked at the performances of lead roles, music and the screen play.
Inka performances ki vaste:
Story: Story was tailor made to the Hero and added masala kind of family back drop and songs to the movie. After finished watching, questions arise in my mind that are not explained by director:

2. Why no one in the family is being questioned Mahesh when he beats up all the goons of Tanikella. Where was the Police and His grand pa?
3. In the train Shivaji and Mahesh sitting in front of each other, how come the missing photo of the other is still posted there?

Screen play: It is a kind of screenplay concentrated only on a single point "Athadu". Director created everything around to it and Hero did not discourage him and utilized the extra push given in the form of tight screen play around the both the characters he was involved in. In this aspect, Trivikram succeeded and it is the unique selling point of the movie. Rest of the characters Trisha, her family, comedians are seem to part of the story did not add much energy to the plot except little bit romance by Trisha.
Direction: Trivikram taking of an action film is really impressive. I must say director did well in bits and pieces and overall he lacked the consistency in showing energy and tempo in scenes involving Mahesh and when it was mixed with other regular frames. This can be seen clearly when he is trying to interchange the frames that involved action and family drama & comedy.
Director wanted to show Hollywood style fights by involving lot of cameras and high definition lenses to capture 10000 frames per second to get the slow motion of bullet path. He forgot one basic thing, the amount of energy and technology used for such a simple incident is totally unnecessary and the place chose (church) to execute is an absurd to me. This kind of things will increase the cost of the movie, nothing else.
Use of graphics may add value to the scenes, they should have limited to few scenes. Throughout the movie director depended on graphics to get effectiveness. It looks foolish to me depend on them heavily. Fights are executed well. For Mahesh it worked well and the Matrix fights came well since they hired an outsider.
Family, comedy and sentiment scenes Trivikram excelled in it and nothing to point out as such.
Camera:
It is one of the nice camera work done by the cameramen in many situations. In few instances, camera work become useless because of indiscriminate use of graphics even though it is not required.
Choreography and songs pasteurization:
Title song placement is really a dumb decision. Director should have used the song background for the frames where song is actually rolled and actual song should have been casted later when he want to show off Athadu. He failed in this aspect by showing it in two parts.
"Pillagaali allari" song is a good. "Pilichina raanantava" is nice creation and my vote goes to this one and next title song (but I was disappointed the way it shown in the movie). Dances composition for Pilichina raanantava and Pillagaali allari is good.
Except these, the other songs picturization is not up to the mark. The costumes, the production values and the quality of the frames for these songs are below par. Aa songs appudu film ee 10years mundo teesinantha worst quality maintain chesadu in costumes, poor graphics and sub par camera movements.. They lacked light, crispiness and tempo of the beats. Trivikram failed here.
Music: Manisharma gave good music to the movie. Back ground score is good in few instances. But not that appealing. I liked Audio of Athadu title song followed by Pillagaali and pilichina raanantava… A good album from him.
Mahesh:
He ruled the movie single handedly in the Nandu character and off course in Parthu too as a lover boy and angry young man. His histrionics improved a lot from his previous movies in expression of love, anger and seriousness. Kudos to his excellent performance.
Trisha:
I did not find anything extra ordinary for this girl in this movie. Mischievous and jovial all the way and did well. Not an MS Raju movie to show off.
Sunil and other actors: Sunil, Brahmam and all performed good in their limits. Kota, Shiyaji shinde, Prakash Raj, Nazar performed well.
Few instances where I liked, Mahesh excelled in performance:
-> Killing Old city goonda in day light busy day
-> Mahesh conversation with Kota both the times
-> Scenes involving Tanikella, Brahmaji
-> Scenes with Trisha when expressing love saying "Nuvvu talupu ela terchukontundi ani atu vaipu vechi vunnavu, nenu talupu eppudu teruchukontundi ani itu vaipu vechi vunna" is really good. Scene involving romeos and Trisha, getting angry on Trisha
-> His complex expressions to people throughout the movie is simply superb
Few things I did not like:
-> The screen play would have been more tight and too much interference of family related scenes would have made this film better.
-> The suspense of the film director wanted to maintain throughout the movie was grossly uncovered by the director itself in the frame where things are happening. It looks foolish to me.
-> The matrix fight is unnecessary including the location it was picturized. May be director wanted to get the effects of an old building washing away with bullets. But he should have done it differently.
-> Title song placement is absurd to me and few songs picturization is sub par.
Overall the movie is very good and can be watch able for Mahesh action, Trivikram taking and Manisharma music.
