bAgdAd gaja donga stopped due to religion problems ?? that's news to me. i heard a different story.
bhUlOka vIruDu is the title considered for the movie to be directed by singItam with tabu as the heroine. in one of the jyOti citra issues in 96-97 time frame there was a still with chiranjeevi and Tabu holding cone ice cream. it was scrapped and they started another movie in the direction of RGV with Urmila as the heroine and dutt had spent almost 50 lakhs on a set. due to some unavoidable circumstances, it was also scrapped and started fresh in the combination of guNaSEKar (fresh from the successful reviews and critical acclaim he got through bAla rAmAyaNam), anjalA jhavEri and soundarya.
there was another movie that was scrapped in the mid 80s. it was titled vajrAla donga (SridEvi's own production i think) in the combination of SridEvi under AKR's direction. MGR came as the chief guest to the opening shot.
regarding other heroes:
venkatesh had a movie started in the direction of B.gOpal on Suresh productions banner with Sobhan bAbu also in the lead role. they registered the title bAva-bAvamaridi and later after the muhurat shot it was scrapped.
venkatesh had a movie started in jayant's direction with mAlASri as heroine in 1992-1993 time frame and later was scrapped. later they retained jayant to direct prEmincukundAm rA.
venkatesh's surya ips was supposed to be in the combination of mInAkshi SEshAdri per the muhUrtam shot (and there was no ips in the original title). but later the heroine was changed to vijaya SAnti.
nbk: a movie was announced in the combination of jandhyala in 87 (the title confirmed was yuvaratna) and Sobhana was supposed to do the heroine's role. later owing to personal preferences (the movie was supposed to be shot 50% in the US) he opted out of the movie and they made that movie with ramesh babu titled cinni kRshNuDu.
vikrama simha bhUpati is scrapped due to the rift between the director and the hero, the director and the dialogue writer, the hero and the producer etc.
cennakESava reDDi (may not be the same story) was initially started with samudra. later samudra was dropped and v.v.vinayak was taken to make the movie CKR.
i think nag also had a couple to his credit.

i dont know why everyones talking about chiru here. whats wrong in changing the director before the movie starts... CHIRU never confirmed or started a movie with these directors and stopped it inbetween.(except for rgv)..
he just said.. they might direct his future movies...or he wanted to act under their direction.... things didnt work out.. whats the big deall..
and abt UK... after that engangement incident it wouldnt look nice if he made amovie. and many sites said that RT demanded more amount thats why they chose srikanth.
Chiru's better than NBKs couple of his movies which were stopped inbetween after they started.

Another funniest thing is, in the below mentioned list directors, Puri Jaganadh came in the list of Chiru twice. After Badri became hit, Chiru immediately announced a movie with Puri, then Baachi released and was a big flop. Then, Chiru ditched Puri as usual.Again after series of hits, Chiru again announced that Puri is going to direct him. Again, after Andhrawala, Puri is sent to garbage list.
I don't understand, if a director delivers one flop, then is it the end of his career or what? Won't he deliver a hit movie again? For a hero of Chiru's magnitude, why is he so scared? can he play with the directors like this for his selfish acts?
Now not only directors, now-a-days our Megastar is changing the heroes as well. As everyone knows Megastar announced a movie with UdayKiran. Then, late he removed UdayKiran and we all saw that RaviTeja replaced UdayKiran.Now the latest buzz is, RaviTeja will be replaced by Srikanth.

Coming to Upendra, as everyone knows Upendra's movie "OM" was a mega hit in Karnataka.During that time, AswaniDutt was making a movie with Chiru. It came in all news papers that Upendra might direct Chiru.Konchem flash back loki velli choodu. In fact, Chiranjeevi himself said in an interview at that time, that he liked the taking of Upendra in OM and he will be directing his next movie. Then, telugu version of "OM" was released and was not that successful. Then, they announced Ram Gopal Verma, later they announced Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and finally settled with Gunasekha, the movie is Choodalani vundi.

chiru-dutt-RGV movie was scrapped because RGV walked out of it. he was busy with daud and other hindi projects. chiru even waited for rgv in bombay for a month. then chiru cancelled the project because rgv was ignoring it.
Teja, ravi kumar, vn aditya etc they were just considered for chiru movies. never confirmed
If you want to diss chiru try to come up with better stuff.

Srinu Vaitla to direct Chiranjeevi?
Gita Arts film with Chiranjeevi will go to floors very shortly. According to the buzz, Srinu Vaitla will direct this venture. Though there is no confirmation available on official note, it is very likely that Srinu Vaitla is the one. Bhupathi Raja provides story for this film in which Chiranjeevi will play dual role of father and a son. Earlier, the project was to take off with Puri Jagannath. But due to some prior commitments, Puri Jagannath have opted out of this one - says sources.
