As far as i understand, this is google's step towards the Google WiFi connections. I think they are available now in sanfransisco(may be they will win the contract of free wifi access to sanfransisco by mayer). |

>>Kani okati konni forums which serve free stuff like movies music scripts etc make sure that you download the stuff using IE only. So that spyware can gain access. yeah mama, once (before I switched to Firefox) my system came to the verge of collapse. its something like 32mb download, I vaguely remember. I just stopped downloading from such sites. :-) |

>>But when I am playing songs from Raaga/Ragalahari It slows/stops like damn hell. Did you experience any prob like this?. >>Playing video/audio is very slow compared to IE. Any reason Though I heavly use Firefox, I still use IE for the following trusted sites mama: Raaga/ragalahiri Office intranet/mails Banking sites Online purchases. Mama, I don't know the reason why it is slow. Usually, the browser downloads the song before it plays. Probably, it is running out of memory. Check that and if you still see the problem, post in the firefox forum. -S |

Some tools in google desktop are worth it. But it uses up too much of system resources at times when we need it most. So even I disabled it. |

Bhupathi mama I think its with the setup that some websites use. I have not experienced what you said as far as videos or concerned But, since I don't use raaga or ragalahari for audio and depend on MP3's I can't comment. |

Smart mama true. Kani okati konni forums which serve free stuff like movies music scripts etc make sure that you download the stuff using IE only. So that spyware can gain access. In that case having one antispyware is good, I am using microsoft antispyware and sofar its doing good job. |

>>BTW, ekkado chadiva the best way to avoid spyware is to login to your laptop as guest rather than the admin anta.. A good way to restrict spyware is start using Mozilla Firefox instead of IE. Since I started using Firefox, I was not affected by a single spyware and I uninstalled all my spyware removal software. Login as a normal user and not as an adminsitrator. |

Don mama, You can secure your Wifi using many methods on your comp Set a WEP key etc... Basically here you will be sending all the data to google's servers.Even all the passwords. Which is not a safe. Bcz there are billion hackers tryin to have fun to hack these always. But googles main funda is in the name of security they want to get more info on the browsing habit/sense of users and try to revolutinize google adsense One other thing is plz use a firewall on your personal laptop.I use ZoneAlarm(get it from download.com) which is a free firewall but I luv it simply. Did you also download the Google Desktop?. I dont feel it is secure too if anyone else uses your lappi/comp ~B~ |

>>If my wireless network at home is secured then is there a point of having Google's Wi-fi.. I guess this is for people who use WiFi access outside (say for eg., starbucks, airport etc). In that scenario, this software encrypts your data, sends it to a google server and then google server sends the reponse back to you, which is then decrypted. |
