Let me start with Boston, a kind of typical center (where normally two or three shows were max. until Athadu). But Athadu changed the scenario and started some change in the importance to this center. Previously this center was considered to be a small time center despite many Telugu people are living in this region (that includes Southern NH, Southern parts of Maine and parts of CT in addition to RI). Very few movies like Manmadhudu, Indra, Tagore, Nuvve Kavali were exhibited more shows than the usual two to three shows in this center and the total count (normal) was always less than 500.
In the first screening Athadu was screened in a bad location (Somerville) which has no proper parking facilities and people normally used to avoid going to this place unless the movie is extraordinary. In this place Athadu had a total count of more than 500. Later a new center Lowell has been opened with Athadu. If one was there, they would have wondered to see the huge crowd. A very large crowd waited for an additional screening on the same day. But went back as there was no possibility. Again within two weeks anoter screening was made in the same location and about 3/4 of the theatre was full (despite bad weather). Later again another time it was screened in Arlington and attracted more than 100 people. All together there was a total count of 1200 in this center which is STILL A RECORD.
