I once respected sachin for his batting and his dedication towards India. But he lost it when he applied for the DUTY WAIVER of Rs. 1.13 crore for his Ferrari car. First of all it is a luxury car and he is stinking rich with endorsements. He doesn't have to apply for the waiver.
And that duty waiver would bring food at least a 3 months for the people in mumbai slums.
I know it does not make a iota of difference if sachin lost my respect, but it hurts to see that no matter how rich the person is , they are still greedy for money.
Now do you want an answer who is better than sachin?

cricket is a team game and the whole team should contribute for a VICTORY.
if Sachin does not contribute then he should be criticised but the PITY is thou Sachin contributed he is still criticised.
This is bcoz of SACHIN's own LEGENDARY status which no ordinary mortals can achieve.

How many other matches did we loose because the same bunch of players failed to even reach double figures while Sachin scored more?? I don't have
the time to dig up the statistics, but everyone knows how many matches we lost when Sachin scored the highest number of runs in the team, yet all
the others collectively could not even score as many runs.. Please post such details if you have the time.. I believe pretty much everyone here agrees
that even if Sachin scores more than all the other batsmen combined, we lost a lot of matches. If so, it is the fault of the other batsmen and not
Sachin's alone for not clinching the match with his bat..

So the moral of this example is , During the initial league matches you still have a chance to redeem yourself. But it is not the same case in Final. You need to perform in the FINAL
people will always remember that you failed in your important assignment and people easily forget that your scored tons and had 80% marks in your first 3 years of your engineering.
people always run behind success. The same goes for movie stars and cricketers.

Manishi mama, I agree that Sachin has not delivered his best in the Oneday international finals recently.. But I won't agree that he has not contributed to India's victories in the past. Can you tell me who has done better than Sachin?
All the fools who're arguing against Sachin are bringing up recent matches but are forgetting his golden years. OK,Out of 12 finals India played recently (in the last 2 years), We won thrice. In this 3 finals, only in NetWest final, he failed.
The other 2 tournaments are the series against West Indies and Pakistan. In the final match of the West Indies Series, Sachin was the top scorer and was the man of the match.
In the final match against Pakistan, he scored 38, took a wicket and took the match turning point catch (great catch) of Inzamamul Haq.
At the same time, can you tell me how many of our cricketers have done more than Sachin all these years?
Can I tell you a simple example, as you know India's golden year after 1983 (where we won world cup) is 1998. We won six tournaments that year (1998) and till date that is the highest number of tournaments in Indian history. In the 6 finals of these 6 tournaments, Sachin was the man of the match in 5 finals. In the only final, where he didn't get the man of the match, still he scored a blistering 41 of 24 balls.
In all these 6 finals, the then India's captain Azhar's contribution is nill. All he did was lifting the cup.
Last thing, you're asking me about Sachin's scores only in finals? So, if he doesn't play well in the initial crucial matches, first of all how can we go to the finals? Without his magnificient performance (600+ runs in the recent world cup which is all time highest for any cricket in the world) would we have gone to the finals? All the fellows make a big issue of his failure in the final but forget that he single handedly brought India to the final..
OK Manishi mama, last but not least, who is your favorite cricketer and can you tell me who is better than Sachin????????? |

Till date, no one has contributed as many victories as Sachin did to India.

India lo evadu raaleka poye sariki these haters will bring cricketers from other countries. Initially with Lara, later with Mark and Steve waugh, later with Hayden and Ponting.
During all these years, I saw these many cricketers used to be compared with living legend Sachin.
Aa compare chese cricketerla perlu marathaa vuntayii but Sachin never changes… That is Sachin..
All these fellows who cry on Sachin won't have a specific agenda.. Who ever is in form currently, they will bring that fellow and compare with Sachin. Once that fellow is out of lime light, they will bring up another fellow. Bottom line is, vaallaki Sachin ante kadupu manta..

It is not Sachin's fault that records tumble whenever he goes out to bat..
People talk as if being the highest run getter in the world is a sin.
Is it his fault that the others in the team are
not performing, while he scores all the big runs?
In the Asia cup final match, it seems that he is
at fault for scoring 70+ runs while all the other
big-wigs (Rahul, Ganguly and Laxman, not to
mention Yuvraj and Kaif) are the martyrs for the
team cause because they 'sacrificed' their wickets..
How would getting out help in anyway over staying
at the crease and scoring some damn runs?? Would
getting out fighting valiantly win the match for
us or staying at the wicket, forming partnerships
and knocking off the runs?? No matter how great a
player is he cannot win a game by himself.. Take
the example of Lara in the WI team.. He scores
triple hundreds and 400s in test cricket, fights
valiantly in many matches, often single-handedly..
Yet, WI is not a very successful team.. Would you
blame Lara for WI's misery and belittle his
greatness just because he could not win all the
matches singlehandedly??
People saying that 'Sachin should have won the
match for us, if he was the world's best batsman'
what the hell does that mean?? Because Sachin IS
the best batsman, he could even score 70 odd runs
while the other 'sincere team players' presented
their wickets and were cooling their heels in
the pavillion. It seems people want Sachin to
score the 229 runs all by himself even if the
rest of the team 'fights heroically' and gifts
their wickets to the opposition.
Well said.. if your definition of being the best
batsman in the world is scoring 90% of the team's
target in 90% of the matches thereby winning 90%
of the series/torunaments for a team of 90% gutless wonders, then
Sachin is definitely NOT the best batsman in the world.

Eventhough sachin plays well, he is not able to win the team on many occassions. Ex. Asia cup final, Chennai test match and the list goes on.
On the contrary dravid is winning the matches for India. In australia test match he scored century in the first innings and he also not out in the second innings too. Wickets are fallling at the other end, but he stand till the end and won the game for india.
Dravid plays well before 2 years too. But some other batsman dominates him and his effort for the team went unrecognised many times. (Eg. Australia test match lakshman 285 Dravid 180+).
Tendulkar when he is on 90's he used to drag alot to get his 100. He is not a true team player

yea mama..i know there will be a game plan for every game..tats wat every team do..
and you know..when other countries play with india..their first plan is to restrict sachin and get him out asap..if everybody is targeting sachin and poor guy is not geting help from his team(not rotating the strike)..wat he can do
ok..i agree with you..he changed his style..he dont want to throw the bat as he does in couple of yrs bac..he is matured now..he wants to build the partnerships..and allow others(like sehwag) to fire..
