Manishi mama, I understand and I apologize. I was typing in a hurry, it was a typo. I mean to say 1990 and instead of it, I wrote 1999..Sorry for the confusion..
What I want to convey was, when his scored his first century in 1990 (In fact, this century was his first in Test Cricket), but in a hurry I wrote it as 1999.
OK mama, now you're saying Sachin was THE SOLE MATCH WINNER till 1999.. But that statement is still OK.
What really pains me is many times, some of the fellows who doesn't know basics of cricket or who started following cricket very recently undermines his performance and claims he never won any matches for India and that pains me a lot..

mama, The only time sachin scored a 155 not out against australia was way back on March 6th
1998. India was trailing by a mere 71 runs. And in the second innings 3 other players scored half centuries(sidhu, dravid ,laxman)

PD babai, some of you guys argue that Sachin never won matches against India. When we come up and say that Sachin has contributed more victories than any one else, you guys say that you will discuss about only finals. Then, when I brought up the great feat of Sachin where by he was the man of the match in 5 finals and we won all the 5 tournaments in 1998, then you guys say that he is OK in onedays but has never played great innings in Tests. OK, lets talk about only tests.
What about Sachin's first century in 1999 when he played a magnificent innings of 132 not out against England (in England) and saved India from defeat? Before lunch itself on the last day, India lost all the top order and are on the path towards defeat. Then Sachin with his great innings, with the help of lower order (Manoj prabhakar) played a great innings and we escaped defeat.
You said Dravid scored 2 centuries against England in the recent series but conveniently ignored Sachin. As you know, India won only one test in England in that series and Sachin was the top scorer of that match (194). So, there is no Sachin's contribution in that match?
In the recent test series against West Indies, we won only one test and Sachin scored a century and got man of the match award. So, there is no Sachin's contribution in that match?
What about Sachin's 155 not out against Australia in the second innings of the test against Australia which changed India's fortunes and won the match (India were behind Aus in the first innings) for us?
What about his great knock against Pakistan (but we lost the match) in Chennai when all the remaining players failed?

Last but not least, bring up your players and tell me in what way they're greater than Sachin or how many matches they won for India..
