The sublime point in generating interest is undoubtedly the presentation of characters and their actions at any point of time during the play. While looking at Heroine character through a window needs not only poking but also, to a larger extent, gushing out expressions which portray delight, curiosity and crush. Mahesh excelled in that scene by releasing all those emotions through his face adding a pinch of innocence to his born gift Charm. It is not that you feign expressions to others as perceived by you but the other way round. An actor become success in acting on achieving this and no wonder Mahesh is termed an actor par excellent. Imagine any one acting in place of Mahesh when the lift door opens after repair. The actor there is going to hug the actress but stops as the door opens. Then what would be the reaction of the actor? The term instinct applies to acting skills as well to raise the graph of behavioral nuances for effectiveness of the scene. In this scene Mahesh’s hands which are going to hug the actress, in a split response, when the door opens, tweaked in a manner that gives the message “Now we are safe” to the staring public. The expressions and movements during a song are very much necessary but not beyond the meaning of the lyric and music. Devuda Devuda Song is a perfect example of blending expressions, movements with those of lyrics and music. You can see the change of expressions in accordance with the lyrics, no matter how small is the word in the song. The expressions of Mahesh in this song spring along with the tunes and words of the lyric. Mahesh’s eyes radiate grief and wrath so naturally in the scene where he weeps for his father and looks at his colleague’s corpse. Shy and Surprise at a time is best emoted by him when the heroine comes to meet him first time. He did complete justice to the subject matter, involving recklessness with a sense of responsibility, and took the acting to greater heights with his subtleties. He showed Fury with his eyes in the Compartment fight scene thus eliminating onus on the writer for lengthy and loud dialogues. It is no wonder why every director wants to direct him. And in fact the director is not directing him literally, but only showing his natural acting abilities. Getting Kudos from Amitabh and Rajani genuinely is another feather in his cap. Decimating the records in the annals of Tollywood is another feather.
