Hi, I am a telugu girl, born and brought up in Chennai.I don't have a native in Andhra, or if I do have one, I am not aware of it.
You dont care or dont bother about your roots in Andhra Pradesh. I dont think you know how to read/write Telugu. I am sure that you speak broken Telugu or dont speak at all. It is clearly evident that your interest is only Movies.
Coming to the subject, I am an ardent telugu movie fan, and bcoz of me all my friends, irrespective of tamil, hindi, kannad or mallu, watch movies along with me. As we are in Chennai, not all telugu movies are released here, but atleast the good ones do and I had no complaints about that.
On a practical note I don't know how many of your so called friends flong to theaters with you for every GOOD telugu movie that gets released!! Can you give a rough number? Any previous movies and names??
But lately, it has been a trend to remake telugu super hits in tamil and the best ones donot come to Chennai. Likewise, Nuvvostanante Nenothantana, Bommarilu etc didnot come to Chennai. The telugu movie producers need to understand onething. Next to Andra, it is here in Chennai, where u can find a lot of telugu speaking people residing. You guys need to understand the dissapointment we face when a good movie is not released here. We had planned to watch Bommarilu in a theatre in Chennai. We couldn't make it the first week, but when we went to the theatre, it had been replaced by Andala Ramudu just bcoz they had sold the tamil remake rights. We were so dissapointed. I kindly request to dub these telugu movies into tamil as the other tamil movies are done to telugu,
or otherwise if ur still concerned about ur profit movies, let the movie run for atleast a month before u could sell it. Pokiri did make a profit by running 100 days in Chennai itself.
FYI though there are many Telugu speaking people in Chennai its not one of the Best or Biggest MOney spinning TErritory for TElugu movies. Movies are made make Money in the first Place. So wherever there is an Opportunity to make money Producers will follow. In case of POKIRI it was theater owner's decision to retain the movie otherwise it would been taken off.
And talking about hit movies being remade in Tamil, it is just another dissappointment. They just spoil the essence of the movie, making it more commerialised and the movie bombs at the box office. People here then comment " how did this stupid movie run in telugu for 200 or 300 days?" So the next time u produce a hit movie, kindly adhere to our concerns.
When a movie is remade lof of things come into picture and sometimes you are right. You can
apply the same viceversa where another language film is remade into TElugu and the essence is lost. If you are so bothered about Telugu movies and Superhit Telugu Movies then you should counter the "how did this stupid movie run in telugu for 200 or 300 days" comments being made by people instead of passing them ON.
Last but not least Try to find your roots. That is more important than a Hit Movie.
P.S.: This appears to be Publicity stunt for Bommarillu movie rather than a true concern.
