Roger Federer rocks. Period. Such a cool guy, never does stupid things like yelling at umpire, never gets frustrated..respects his peers.....he is proud of wat he achieved and he has every reason to be ....you cant take that for an attitude....One of the very famous coaches on the tour 'Bollettieri' in a recent interview said the following interesting lines about roger... “When you know you are something special, that’s attitude," . “That’s far more important than money, cars, trophies, anything else in the world. Attitude is the barometer for success and failure, and he’s got it." He is just 25, but he runs a huge foundation by name "Roger Federer foundation" to help the poor kids in South africa (his mom is from south africa). Donated money to Tsunami victims. he also offered to play any number of matches to raise funds for tsunami victims. Part of his yearly income go to " Roger Federer foundation ". He sold couple hundreds of his autographed rockets to raise money for UNICEF childeren's fund. Now, they are selling "federer bears" to raise funds.....also was named UNICEF's goodwill ambassador recently..... |

this guy has lot of attitude...i wish he starts loosing soon and someone like rafael nadal or Andy Roddick or Marat Safin start dominating him.. I dont see anything great in his shots but he will not miss out on key points and games like..break chances, set points and ofcourse he gets only better from quarter finals.. |

Q. James just said in his press conference that he was reading an article recently where it was stated that Tiger Woods was exceeding Michael Jordan as the greatest athlete of our times. He said, quote, unquote, "That's a joke." He said he thought that title belonged to you. He went into great detail as to why he felt that way. How does that make you feel when peers speak of you in that way? ROGER FEDERER: It's very nice, obviously, to highly talk about a fellow player, you know. I think he is fantastic for the game, as well. But, you know, that he says something like this, puts me ahead of basically my own idol, Michael Jordan, that's something very special, of course. For me, it's impossible to say if it's true or not, you know, because it's so hard to compare sports. But it's definitely nice to be all the way up there, that's for sure. Q. Did you really, because it was your first time in Ashe this tournament, did that mean a lot to you? I know a lot had been made of it. Did it mean a lot to you that you hadn't been there yet, and because the atmosphere was what it was against you, did that give you the extra gear perhaps? ROGER FEDERER: I doubt that it's because of, you know, being the first time at Ashe at night. I played my first few matches on Ashe, so it's not like I haven't played on this court forever. I've been practicing the first week all the time. I know how it feels. I remember how the crowd was last year, you know, with Agassi. I thought it was even more extreme than tonight. Not like this was nothing, but, I mean, it was pretty tough. But I knew that from the start. I didn't have the feeling they were rooting against me; they were rooting for James. That's a big difference. It's absolutely acceptable for me. One of the greatest sportsman of this era. |
