I don't know about those. I use TD. Normally the trading fee depends on the share value and or #of shares. In general you pay about $9.95 for each trade (buy or sell). |

mundu a/c open cheyandi. overall process will take about a week roughly. stocks kontam/ammatam pedda vishayam kadu, all self explanatory on any brokerage's website. key is to do your own due diligence before jumping in. that means you should be able to spend lot of time, unless you have real interest it may not be worth. also you should have stomach to withstand the gyrations in the market and individual stocks. if you are really interested and as long as you don't bet your house on trading then it might be worthwhile. first step - open an account or find out how to open a trading account if your bank has a trading arm! |

first of all open a trading account with some brokerage. I think TD Ameritrade is one of good and cheap ones out there for US trades. |

If you are in the US and trying to invest for long term (say 5 years) then energy sector may be a good bet at this time as it is beaten down a lot in the last two months. don't expect to go up straight and there would be lot of corrections on the way. but if you are looking for long term, then go for ConocoPhillips (COP) or ExxonMobil (XOM). Conoco is cheap on valuation basis but Exxon is the biggest in the world. If you don't have stomache for individual stocks then you can buy ETFs (exchange traded funds) for energy sector. |
