Dear Patrons, Certain unfortunate developments in the past few days have necessitated this public appeal. As all of you know, we are an entertainment company that strives to provide its audiences with legitimate home video products of the best possible quality. We are a business organization that respects and strives to uphold the highest business ethics. Therefore, we need to bring the details of recent incidents to the attention of our valued patrons and the esteemed fraternity of Film Producers back home. We acquired exclusive overseas theatrical distribution and home video (DVD, VCD, and Internet) rights of the Telugu feature film Godavari from M/s Touring Talkies – Dallas represented by Mr. Manohar Reddy who had earlier acquired the same, from the Producer Sri GVG Raju - M/s SSC ARTS. We made all agreed upon payments to Touring Talkies for the purchase of these rights. However, after selling exclusive overseas rights to Imagilight and after receipt of all agreed upon payments from us, to our utter dismay and in gross violation of the business norms and the applicable law, Touring Talkies and Mr. Manohar Reddy proceeded to re-sell (at this time, these rights did not belong to Touring talkies as they were already sold to Imagilight) the home video rights to a third party in violation of his prior commitments to us. By doing so, Mr.Manohar reddy not only breached a contract, they violated our legal rights, that we secured making hefty payments to M/s Touring talkies to exclusively exploit the movie Godavari through home video and theatrical distribution. Mr. Manohar Reddy did not stop there, to cover his folly, he made false accusations about us thus causing damage to our reputation. Our repeated and earnest requests to M/s Touring Talkies to mend their ways and not to do any thing that would not only strain our otherwise pleasurable professional relation, but also would tantamount to breach of contract and breach of trust have not yielded much result. Not to spare any effort we also requested Mr. Sekhar Kammula and Mr. Anish Kuruvilla to intervene and make M/s Touring Talkies see reason. Mr. Manohar has contacted many DVD manufacturers based both in USA and India to sell the home video rights of GODAVARI all of whom (except Bhavani DVD) rejected the proposal citing it as illegal and unethical. In fact, most of them have contacted us and cautioned us about his intentions. Subsequently, we approached M/s Bhavani DVD in India and USA to impress upon them the gravity of the issue and pleaded with them to refrain from buying a sold property once again and get into a dubious deal. However eagerness to make an easy extra buck got the better of reason, during our efforts. We are extremely distressed that things should have reached such a stage, where we are left with no option but to seek legal recourse to protect our interests. We appeal to the patrons, who subscribe to legitimate DVDs and business ethics to use their discretion before buying any dubious product being passed off as something original. Perhaps this will be one occasion where probably the dubious product is better packaged thanks to the abetment by the erstwhile copyright owner. Your decision will go a long way in vindicating what we stood for all along and also help us serve you better. And last but not the least, we apologize to Sri. GVG Raju Mr. Sekhar Kammula, Mr. Anish Kuruvilla for the inconvenience being caused because of this confusion, though we have never been responsible for this unsavory situation.
