Implausible stunts, absurd action scenes and routine love track have made the Telugu heroes hysterical. They are hardly leaving that formula and supporting their hysteria saying that they are for masses. Even Mega Star Chiranjeevi says that his fans cannot relish the films like ’Rudraveena’ although he likes to make similar ones. But are the same fans relishing ‘Stalin’? This is a million dollar question. Chiranjeevi need not make another ‘Rudra Veena’. He can think of novel ideas and make ground-breaking films like ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’. He can safe guard his mass appeal as well with that. Chiranjeevi and many of the so-called mass heroes seem to be in the misconception that ‘mass image’ means battering the crowds of rowdies to death with two metal rods or with mere fists. But that isn’t the factor. Touching the hearts of millions of audiences with their sensible acts on screen brings mass appeal. Heroes shouldn’t get hysterical with audiences. They have to make the audiences hysterical with their performance. Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Dilip Prabhavalkar could do that through ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’. Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi have bagged immense mass image along with enticing the class audiences with their characters in ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’. Even Gandhiji’s characterization brought greater mass appeal. The last few years have brought colossal change in film making. Even Bollywood is leaving routine formulae and attempting new concepts. Humor and soft narration are the factors those are in trend now. Albeit, a message has to be given, Bollywood people are making that possible with humor like in ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’. But the message that’s intended to give through ‘Stalin’ got fogged by mass fights and other incredible hero worship factors. You may ask how ‘Pokiri’ did well at box-office despite violence. That’s because of sense, sensibility, conviction and climax twist. The film wouldn’t have bagged that success without climax twist. As that’s a film based on cops and inter-departmental riffraff groups, violence sounds justified. Moreover, there is more intelligent element in the film that fogged the violence. As long as Tollywood heroes, writers and directors learn the fact that only new formulae and new fangled themes would turn the heads of audiences. Courtesy : GA |
